Team 1 Roster

QB - Taskmaster
Taskmaster has no super human powers, but he does have what he calls "photographic reflexes". After seeing some perform an action once, he can perfectly copy the action. He has used this ability to copy the fighting styles and skills of many heroes and villains, mixing them up and turning them into his own style. Some of the people he has copied styles/skills from include: Beast, Black Widow, Bullseye, Captain America, Cat, Daredevil, Deadpool, Elektra, Hawkeye, Hulk, Iron Fist, Mister X, Ms. Marvel, Porcupine, Photon (Genis-Vell), Puma, Punisher, Quicksilver, Razorfist, Scarlet Witch, Silver Samurai, Spider-Man, Swordsman, Thing, Thor, Tigra, Toad, Vision, Wolverine and Zaran (In crossovers he has learned the skills of Batman and Huntress but it is unknown if he retains them in the normal Marvel Universe.)

WR - The Flash
All of the various Flash incarnations share a few powers common to all of them. These include the ability to move superhumanly fast, increased reaction time, incredible stamina allowing him to run long distances without tiring, the ability to think at a superhuman rate to match his movements, wounds heal at a superhuman rate, ignoring certain laws physics such as friction and other laws related to movement. The Flash is also able to vibrate incredibly fast allowing to accomplish such feats as melting through ice.

WR - Quicksilver
Quicksilver was at first able to reach the speed of sound, which is about 770 mph, but exposure to the High Evolutionary's Isotope E made it possible for him to run at supersonic speeds of up to Mach 5, about 3805 mph. Using his super speed, Pietro was able to achieve various effects such as "out running gravity" for short periods, such as running across water or up walls. By running in circles, he could creates whirlwind vortexes of great intensity. He could vibrate his muscles extremely fast, creating destructive effects on anything he touched. He recently seems to have regained his original abilities.

TE - Dracula
Short
Dracula possessed the ability to alter his form such as
changing into a bat or into mist. He could control weather to a certain degree with the ability to manipulate thunderstorms, lightning, and summon fog. He possessed
tremendous hypnotic powers and was able to hypnotize people even of the strongest
wills. As Lord of the Vampires, he was also able to control any vampire.

NT - Maestro
His default strength is twice that of Hulk. He is also smarter because of course he is in the future and more things have been exposed.

UT - Sasquatch
Sasquatch's strength is considered very high, but just how high depends on the writer. On certain occasions, he has been shown feats of strength rivaling the Hulk (such as lifting a navy destroyer!) Therefore, Sasquatch could potentially be ranked among the strongest superheroes.

In addition to strength, he has very high endurance, due to a healing factor. He has sharp claws and superhuman agility and stamina. His Sasquatch form is 10 feet tall and weighs 2000 lbs!

He is also a brilliant scientist to boot, specializing in radiation.

DE - Valkin
Valkin possesses super-human strength (in the class 50 range [class 50 = 25-50 tons), is able to move at the speed of sound and possesses the natural abilities of an Eternal, including virtual invulnerability. He's also able to project cosmic energy from his eyes or hands in the form of heat, light, concussive force or lightning-like electrical bolts. He has a low-level psychic ability, which allows him to cast illusions disguising his appearance and to read the mind of anyone with lesser psychic abilities.

SAM - Carnage
Carnage is a living symbiote, it has all of the powers of Venom but lacks the ability to reason or make decisions on its own. Unique to Carnage is its ability to suck a victim dry of its lifeforce.

MLB - He-Man
He-Man has extraordinary physical strength, speed and endurance, and is regarded as a charismatic leader. He has been shown capable of knocking over opponents with his breath, and even causing tornados by running incredibly fast. What is not known is how long he can remain in his He-Man form. At one point he is shown reverting back to Prince Adam after being hit but a powerful explosion, suggesting that there may be a limit to his power.

Most of his powers are gained through a mystical connection with Castle Grayskull, and Prince Adam can use the Sword of Power to transform into He-Man whenever those powers are needed. He also shares telepathic contact with the Sorceress of Grayskull through the sword.

WLB - Lizard

The Lizard has superhuman strength that gives him the abilty to lift about 12 tons. His speed, agility, and reflexes are equal to Spider-Man, although he has no Spider-Sense. He is amazingly tough, surpassing Spider-Man, and his skin is amazingly hard to puncture. He can regenerate limbs and his tail. Also, his tail is superhumanly strong. It is sharp, and can whip at 70 mph. He can scale walls, stick to things, and telepathically control all reptiles within one mile of him. He has normal human intelligence, and can excrete pheromones that cause humans to be more violent(this power was given to him by Green Goblin). As Curt Connors, he has no powers, but is a genius and is a world-famous herpetologist(scientist who studies reptiles).

CB - Ironfist

CB - Shocker
while he has no superhuman powers, Shocker has a pair of gauntlets that can release incredibly powerful vibration waves. At their lowest power setting, these vibration waves can knock a normal person off their feet. At their highest setting, they can vibrate a person's bones into jelly. Shocker also wears a heavily insulated suit that protects him from the effects of his own vibration waves, as well as attacks from enemies.

SS - The Adversary
The Adversary is a powerful demon of the highest order and possesses vast supernatural powers. He is essentially invincible to anything but the most powerful magic and metal. He has superhuman strength and endurance which, being magical in nature, are potentially incalculably high.

He can enter and leave different planes of existence and dimensions at will and has reality warping powers. He can also summon demons and other supernatural creatures to do his bidding.

Gameplan:

Defensive stratagy-__Passing D- Because my DB’s aren’t exactly the_speediest of the bunch we will have to jam the WRs_with my hard hitting CB’s we will also be using a_complicated zone scheme to further counteract their_speed. My LB’s on the other hand are very fast_sideline to sideline types. To stop short dinks and_dunks over the middle we have our giant Sequatchie who_is over 10 feet tall able to bat down passes._Essentially we are going to force them to run up the_Middle with J2 into our huge DT’s and our MLB He-Man._The pass rush generated by the Thing and Valkin (a DE_who can run at the speed of sound and lift 50 tons_should work fine)

__Running D - Although we are going to be primarily_concerned with stopping the pass (because I have faith_that our D-line can handle the run. Both of my DT’s_have strength comparable to that of the Hulk (in fact_Meastro snapped the Hulks neck if memory servers. J2_has his father’s power’s for only 1 hour which is_great except a football game is 4 hours long on_average (not a full time back). While having a force_field wielding super hero is great but force field_generation is physically taxing it may not be_something that they can sustain for 4 quarters.

___Offense Strategy –__Passing - I know two things about my opponent one is_that he is going to try to let the CB’s go one on one_with my super speed WR’s He also thinks his pass rush_will be able to get to my QB to prevent any ranged_attack. He is right about that one. Since this is_the case we are going to have to Dink and dunk until_they start to press. Quick releases will neutralize_the pass rush. Once they start pressing my receivers_I will go Max Protect (to stop the pass rush) and use_the great speed of my WR’s to go deep with both_forcing Plastic man to commit allowing Taskmaster to_send in a pin point blow to the outside shoulder or_either Flash or Quicksilver. Regardless of the_situation on passing downs Doomsday will never see_less than a double team and there could be up to 4_players taking on Doomsday. __Running- Illyana Rasputin’s mutant power of_teleportation will be paramount to the running game_she also has pure black magic bolts and force fields_to protect in the pass game and protect her if for_some reason the teleportation doesn’t work. We will_also throw a few WR reverses and double reverses (our_WRs have the speed to do it).

____Special Teams.-__There is no Hester-esque threat in special teams so_tell good ol Charlie Brown to kick it as far as he_can.__Quick Silver and Flash will alternate in the return_game their speed will start us out with excelent field_position._

Team 2 Roster

HC - Prof. Xavier
He leads the largest group of superheroes in all of comic book
kingdom as well as having the ability to read minds, which will
work surprisingly well to read the minds of opposing team's head coaches. Plus, arguably the strongest telepath in the Marvel Universe.

NFL comparison: Bill Belichick

QB - Bullseye
The most accurate superhero in comic books that has the ability to be accurate with any weapon, not just a gun. Not only is his accuracy used in straight-line throws, he is also able to hit bullseyes with ricochets. As a pocket passing QB, he has no equal.

NFL comparison: Dan Marino

RB - J2
The son of Juggernaut from a different Earth, J2 is a member of the A-Next, the Avengers from a different Earth. He has all of his father's powers, but only for a 1-hour period. Similar to his father, once J2 starts running, he can't be stopped.

NFL Comparison: Jerome Bettis

WR - Mainframe REPLACED BIRDMAN
Mainframe is a robotica replica of Iron Man, created by Tony Starks. His brainwaves are also modeled after Tony Starks. Mainframe is one of the creators of A-Next and is also one of the leaders. Because Mainframe has all of the powers of Tony Starks, he is able to fly after super-speed, have super-strength and also have energy blasts. He also has a similar mind to Tony Starks making him rather intelligent.

NFL Comparison: Terrell Owens

WR - Bluestreak
Similar to J2, Bluestreak is also from A-Next and possesses Super Speed. She is cocky, but is also one of the fastest super-beings in the Marvel Universe, with speed comparable to Quiksilver.

NFL Comparison: Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers)

WR - Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider, equiped with his motorcycle, is very fast. Not only that, but he leaves a trail of fire in his wake, which is pretty damn cool. Using his motorcycle, Ghost Rider is able to fly into the air as well.

NFL Comparison: Calvin Johnson

TE - Captain Marvel
Super strong, super fast, is able to fly. A poor man's version of Superman (sort of a rip off if you ask me) but is still one of the more powerful characters in comic books.

NFL Comparison: Tony Gonzales

LT - Invisble Woman
Her invisability powers are not of importance in football, but her force fields are some of the most powerful in comics. She can create a force field around herself or any other object, thus protecting a QB's blindside with ease.

NFL Comparison: Walter Jones

LG - Maverick
Prior to losing his powers due to M-Day, Maverick had a unique ability that allowed him to absorb all kinetic energy used against him and then release it in an energy blast. He is able to negate strong DTs with his kinetic absorption and then release it back at them. A very high quality guard.

NFL Comparison: Eric Steinbach

C - Strong Guy
Similar to Maverick, Strong Guy also has the ability to absorb kinetic energy and unleash it. Unlike Maverick, Strong Guy releases the energy with his own arms, thus making him equal in strength to the most powerful superheroes.

NFL Comparison: Jeff Saturday

RG - Maelstrom
He also has the power to absorb energy and release it against opposing players. Unlike Maverick and Strong Guy, Maelstrom can absorb not only kinetic energy but also energy
blasts directed at him. Thus, he can be one of the most dangerous players to go up against for a DT.

NFL Comparison: Russ Grim

RT - Green Lantern
He has the ability to create anything that is logically possible with his green power ring. He can easily use the ring to create barriers to prevent edge rushers from getting past him and towards the QB.

NFL Comparison: Jamaal Brown

Defense

DE - Doomsday
Not only is he the only being to ever kill Superman in the present time, but he didn't use any pansy kryptonite. He used his bare fists to kick his ass. Doomsday possesses rare-strength, speed and the ability to adapt his body to injuries or to unfavoring situations. He is one of the strongest-beings in comics and has a limitless ceiling due to his constant evolution.

NFL Comparison: Jack Youngblood

DT - Gladiator
One of the heralds of Galactus. Gladiator possesses super strength that is on-par with Thor and also has the ability to fly, move at the speed of sound and is immune to most psychic attacks. He is a solid 3-technique DT who can move also play DE in 3rd-down, passing situations.

NFL Comparison: Justin Tuck

DT - Steel
Has a powersuit with the abilities of flight and super strength. He also wields a hammer that packs a might blow. His strength is near to that of Superman's. As a NFL player, he can stuff the line with his large steel frame and hold opposing RBs back with his massive hammer.

NFL Comparison: Albert Haynesworth

DE - Onslaught
The strongest psychic ever in the Marvel Universe, Onslaught is the combination of the minds of Professor Xavier and Magneto. Onslaught has the ability to cause paralysis, amnesia, telekinesis and all the powers of Prof. X and Magneto. Additionally, Onslaught has super strength, which is stronger than that of Hulk and Thor.

NFL Comparison: Reggie White

OLB - Wonder Woman
She has strength that rivals that of Superman and is one of the smartest superheroes in the DC universe. She might not have the largest arrays of abilities, but she excels in unarmed combat and would be able to tackle anyone who comes her way.

NFL Comparison: Lance Briggs

MLB - Psylocke
She is possibly the most bad ass character in comics (my opinion). She has the ability of telekinesis, can create psychic katanas, immune to all psychic attacks and she can teleport through shadows. She can be great playing the field or can rush up-the-middle and destroy all opposing players in her way.

NFL Comparison: Ray Lewis

OLB - Loki
The enemy of Thor, Loki possesses super strength as well as many other abilities such as being able to create force fields, able to shoot energy blasts and the ability to fly. He his agile enough and strong enough to play the strongside and cover the opposing team's TE.

NFL Comparison: Shaun Phillips

CB - Ms. Marvel
She is one of the strongest females in the Marvel Universe and has similar strength and powers to that of Power Girl in the DC universe. She has the ability to fly at super-sonic speeds and also possesses enormous strength. Her speed and agility is a major asset to be had at the CB position.

NFL Comparison: Antonio Cromartie

SS - Nova
He has the ability to fly at super speed, wield super strength and absorb energy blasts directed at him. One of the stronger and lesser-known superheroes in Marvel, Nova is now a part of A-Next.

NFL Comparison: Adam Archuleta

FS - Plastic Man
Similar powers to Mr. Fantastic as far as elasticity is concerned. He can pick all the footballs in the air that come his way. Is a member of the Justice League.

NFL Comparison: Brian Dawkins

CB - Superboy
Has powers that are similar to Superman because he is a clone of Superman created after Doomsday killed Superman. Superboy has a form of telekinesis that gives him the ability to fly as well as the ability to use super strength. Will be able to cover fast receivers using his speed and strength.

NFL Comparison: Marcus Trufant

K - Morph
He can turn himself into anything logically possible, so why not turn himself into a giant with a giant foot to kick the ball or something of that sort. He will be fun in the locker room.

NFL Comparison: Jason Elam

Gameplan

It all starts out with the Head Coach and I have one of the greatest leaders in comic books in Professor Xavier. Not only is he an intelligent mind, but he also possesses telepathic ability that would allow him to read the mind of the opposing coach and thus determine what play to run.

As far as my offense goes, it is a predominately run-heavy offense with passing involved. I would say it is 60-40, which the run game getting 60% of the carries and the pass game getting 40%. I am aided in the run game by J2, the son of juggernaut on another Earth. He has all the powers of Juggernaut, so he also possesses the ability to be unable to stop once he gets a head of steam on him. My interior offensive line is also built to plow the way for J2 with all of them possessing inertia absorbing superpowers. Maverick, Strong Guy and Maelstrom can all absorb the kinetic energy used against them and unleash back at their foes with the same devastating power. When the opposing defense uses superheroes that have super strength, such as Hulk or Thor, my interior line will have equal power to those who they face. My passing game is anchored on wearing down the defense with my running game and then have quick routes to get short-yardage. Captain Marvel will see a lot of balls thrown to him due to his great combination of size, speed, strength and flight. He can overpower many SLBs on opposing teams and dominate. Bullseye is the best marksman, who is able to use any object as a deadly weapon. With a football, he could throw the ball directly to the receiver or ricochets off people’s helmets to get the ball where it needs to be. My two tackles are primarily for pass-blocking with there abilities to create force fields to black even the most powerful of mutants of getting to my QB. I run a base 4-3 Defense, but I will bring in a lot of blitzing packages from all over the field. On occasions, I will overload the strongside with a blitz from Loki, but then bring Onslaught back into coverage where he can use is psionic powers to be able to play zone. Also, Ms. Marvel on some occasions will be brought up to blitz as well. With he speed and strength, she should be able to overmatch many offensive linemen in the league. My team will also be anchored by a defense-line that has two very strong edge rushers. Doomsday not only has freakish strength, but he also has the ability to adapt his body physically and mentally to improve his situation. Thus, whatever RT Doomsday goes up against, he can overcome with his adaptive nature. Onslaught will be matched up against the LT and will be able to not only use his strength that has once thrown the Juggernaut half-way across North America, but he also has the ability of paralysis and can send out a giant EMP to short-circuit all electronic players on the opposite side of the field. In the interior line, Gladiator is strong, fast and agile as a 3-technique DT. He can get to the QB if need be or hold his own against the run. Steel wields a massive hammer and has awesome strength sue to his steel suit. This will allow him to take out any offensive lineman who have powers specifically against mutants.

In the linebacker position, I have the strong and deceptively agile Wonder Woman playing my WLB. She can cover well and give a massive hit to opposing players. Psylocke up the middle has the abilities of teleportation, invisibility, telekinesis, telepathy and she wields a kick ass psionic katana. She can be the leader of the defense with her wide-array of abilities and can rush the QB easily with her teleportation abilities. Loki at SLB might seem a little lame at first, but he has great strength, the ability to fly and superior intellect. He will be able to cover the TE and rush the passer if need be.

In the secondary, Ms. Marvel is fast, strong, can fly and will be an impact when brought up to rush the QB. She will be able to hold her own with many of faster and stronger WRs in superhero land. Superboy has similar attributes to Superman, but is just a little bit inferior to him. Thus, he can cover fast WRs just like Ms. Marvel. In my safety spots, we have Plastic Man who can stretch his arms and pluck balls out of the air. Also, there is Nova who has super strength, speed and he can fly. He is very comparable to LaRon Landry when it comes to playing football.

Finally at Kicker, I have Morph. He can just turn into something to kick the ball very far. You can use your imagination.

Team 1's wide receivers do it for me.

I think Teams 1's WRs will be able to exploit the corners some and score, likewise, Team 2 should have mild success on offense both ways. Though I do like both defenses a lot, the offenses create match-up problems.

Right now, feeling tight, I look to special teams. Team 1's kicker is horrendous, and Team 2's is average since Morph doesn't get power when changing. Look at the return game, Flash and Quicksilver should beast since Morph won't kick it out of the back of the end zone.

Slight nod to team 1, though I like Team 2's team better overall.

wth, professor X can just wipe the minds of the other team. game over before it begins and i don't think that would be affecting the field physically as outlined in the rules.....

btw, i now realize i voted for the team that was losing at the time i voted in each one of these.....damn, no wonder im a bears fan, lol

I have to give it to Team 1. The main reason being the running game of Team 2. Team 2 wont be running for the whole second half and J2 will be only a liability. I am afraid of the Passrush and protection but to see the whole running game taken away is a big weakness

Team 1 certainly has the offensive weapons, but much like Chad Pennington throwing to Steve Smith and Santana Moss, I'm just not sure Taskmaster can get the ball there.

Also, I'd be concerned about the megalomaniacal members of the team. Doctor Doom and Carnage among aren't going to take to instruction well. Team chemistry is going to take a hit.

Team 2 relied too heavily on MC2. J2 can't last the whole game and Nova..... well, you chose a weaker version of Nova than the current one. The MC2 Nova has the standard powers of a Nova. The regular marvel Nova has the combined powers of all Novas. And the worldmind supercomputer in his mind instructing him.

Also, looking at the defensive lines, I'd say both of you are better off running 3-4's.

Valkin and Steel. Bump them both to linebacker guys.

I'm going to go with team 2 despite team 1 having the WR's they do. Team 1 is going to be very difficult to coach for the best. Moreso for a head coach who doesn't speak.

Oh, I wouldn't say that Maestro has twice the strength of the Hulk. If that were so, Hulk would have never even been able to put up a fight.
