IMO he is the best foriegner (no clue how to spell it). He can creat for himself and teammates. I was thinking about taking a particular tall asian guy, but he hasnt proved he can win in the nba. Manu can jus unload points ala Kobe and Lebron

Germany......

....Along with another player who will remain nameless for name dropping purproses, are far and ahead better then Manu.

dbro
05-19-2008, 06:24 PM
Will Nowitzki was taken first so obviously i couldnt take him. And the way i want to build my team Manu should fit in. How many titles has Dirk won? And how many times has he flopped in the big games? Have you watched Manu play and the way he can create on offense

I know you mean it differently when it comes to Dirk, but who flops more than manu in big games.

dbro
05-19-2008, 06:34 PM
When has Manu flopped in a big game. He has been putting up monster numbers against the Hornets (in the games the Spurs won).
Manu is a good team player which is what im tyring to do make a good team not build around one individual which is what Dirk is. He is an individual player he doesnt help out or make players better

Paul
05-19-2008, 06:46 PM
How many titles has Dirk won?

Oh, are you referencing the fact Manu won a few championships with a Hall of Fame coach and PF by his side? Because last time I checked it was a team game was it not? Please.

And how many times has he flopped in the big games?

Dirk has been the cornerstone of a perennial playoff team for the past 7-8 years and won a more then deserved MVP last year. And exactly what do you mean "flopped"? Because anyone trying to defend Manu, should never use the word "flopped" to insult another player. And if you want to talk about the GS series last year, let's talk about Avery running nothing but ISO's all series, which allowed Harrington, Jackson and pretty much most of the GS team to gang bang him through out the series. Or do you want to talk about the NO series this year, when he lead the Mavs in Pts(24) and Reb(12) throughout. Or is it the time he lead the Mavs to the Finals a few years ago, which yes we did eventually lost, but did he not put us in the position for the opportunity?

So what exactly now has Manu done?

dbro
05-19-2008, 06:53 PM
HOLLLLLLLLL UP Dirk did not deserve MVP last year for one. And Manu and Parker are leading that team in points in the playoffs. Just watch Manu say thats about all i can say. Just watch him play and im a Hornets fan, not a spurs fan so im not being a homer or anything

Paul

HOLLLLLLLLL UP Dirk did not deserve MVP last year for one.

There is this odd concept of a MVP where the Best player on the Best team wins it. Some may argue that point, but it seems like a valid reason none the less. It doesn't hurt to shoot over 50% from the field, 41% from behind the arc and 90%, which are all career highs, along with the usual 25pts and 9 reb. But yeah besides that pretty mediocre year.

And Manu and Parker are leading that team in points in the playoffs. Just watch Manu say thats about all i can say. Just watch him play and im a Hornets fan, not a spurs fan so im not being a homer or anything

Oh my, becuase I've never seen Manu play before, even though he is in the same division as my home team . He is a fine player, a great complimentary piece to a great team. But to believe he is better then Dirk and couple others international guys I have in mind, I don't buy it.

He didnt deserve it? He leads his team to the playoffs and then he is expected to do it all himself. He is in Lebrons situation he doesnt have that supporting cast to help him win it, and dont even mention josh howards name because he was no where to be found in the past few years. And all u got to say is "Just watch Manu" u havnt give me anything us but that and we're suppose to take u seriously? Manu isnt even the best player on his team, let alone the best foreigner on his team, i can think of 2 others just off top my head. Dirk continues to lead his team to the playoffs, and Manu doesnt even start half the time. And another thing that "how many titles does dirk have" crap is just bullsh*t, look at guys like kevin garnett and paul pierce 2 great players who doesnt have a title, but there still one the best in the game. You try to build a team around Manu and see how far you get.

dbro
05-19-2008, 07:10 PM
No Lebron can make his teammates better, I just dont see Nowitzki as the guy to build a franchise around if you wanna win. If you wanna go to the playoffs and get to the finals once every 7 years then thats good, but he cant win you the big game. He isnt clutch. Plus i said IMO Ginobilli is the best i know their are other guys who are just as good and maybe a tad better. I jus like watching Ginobolli on offense

RoyHall#1

All right, I just came up with my big board, and I'm looking through and I see all these centers and forwards.

But then I see the top point guard is gone in Steve Nash, which leaves me two PGs left on the board.

So I'm gonna bypass the BPA, and take:

PG Tony Parker (Brugus, Belgium)
