This game has long been a joke and based on these ratings thus far, I would say that it is continuing to be a joke. How many players can you have in the 90's? They need to adopt FIFA's system. VERY few elite players are ranked in the 90's and most players are low 80's high 70's. It is a 100 system but if you are under 70 you are trash.

That said. I will purchase this the day it is released.

haven't seen this anywhere, and too lazy to look through all 10 pages, so if it's been posted already I apologize

http://www.sportsgamer.com/content/1618/madden-09-safety-ratings/

you can utilize a shotgun package that puts DMC at QB and another RB in the slot, with the FB in the backfield in the Raiders playbook

my new offence

Bingo. It seems like the only thing they care about is sales at this point in the franchise.

years and years of complaining fans about their ratings. I don't agree with the ratings, but I can understand why they just made everyone good, that way at least the casual fan who enjoys Madden won't complain too much.

Well in relation to other Madden games it may be out of step, but it seems they threw logic and reason out the window this year. I guess they figure a good way to please everyone is to basically inflate ratings across the board.

Except the Falcons, who just completely f*ing suck in this game.

i'm not huge into the 'overall' rating of players, as it is determined by the combination of the other attributes and the importance of the position, but with that said, it is obvious that there isn't that big an overall difference between a lot of guys, which would change my opinion completely

Well I change my ratings on my roster before I start playing anyway, and usually when somebody came over my house I let them go through and check how they were so he could agree to the changes...For instance I'm still playing Madden 08 with Roy Williams as a 79, dropped his awareness plenty pts, and his man coverage even more, now thats realistic :) Of course playing online that presents some problems.

But I still haven't got my question answered, is EA sports head coach adopting the same ratings for their game? I'm more interested in finding out about that, thats where the realism and my GM mode excitement is going to come from, Madden is just about playing other people and using some rookies.

Lawrence Timmons dropped from a 82 to a 75. He's probably going to beat out Foote who is an 86.

Now that I think of it, when I changed Timmons from ROLB to MLB in Madden 2008 to go along with what was happening in real life, he became a 75 overall. Just keep him at 82, EA.

Those madden rankings are terrible, why? Because Corey Webster has no business being better than a 50 in zone. He's simply horrible in zone and Tim Lewis's inability to figure that out is all the evidence need to prove that he has trisomy 21

Every player is overrated in Madden which makes sense since the game itself is highly overrated and has been for years.

Oh well, with FINN's gamesave editor, im able to keep playing ESPN NFL 2K5 which is far superior than Crapadden.

Yay me!!! :)

I like how Fifa does it. I mean I think it was just last years edition (07) where guys like Cech were 89s, Ballack was high 80s, and Zlatan was like 86. Makes the game way better.

The ratings for HC vary alot due to scheme, playstyle, morale etc etc...

Thats the best I can give you for now, although i'm sure there are default ratings for players

I'm trying to find out about the fantasy draft on for the PS2 version. In '08, every team picks a QB or a RB in the 1st round. it's stupid because Chad Pennington goes in the 1st round and Shawne Merriman goes in the 5th. That's not realistic. I heard the 360 version is more realistic, so I might get that, but the PS2 version will be at least $10 cheaper.

And no age is considered in the fantasy draft, so Torry Holt can go above Braylon Edwards.

I love that because I can build a team of great young players who haven't yet reached their full potential.

I had an amazing defense last year, and I still remember it, it looked like this.

DE - Trent Cole, Elvis Dummerville
DT - Brodrick Bunkley, Jonathan Babineaux
DT - Darnell Dockett
DE - Aaron Kampman, Chauncey Washington
WLB - AJ Hawk, Kevin Burnett
MLB - Patrick Willis, Tedy Lehman
SLB - Derrick Johnson, Rocky Boiman
CB - Champ Bailey, Aaaron Ross, Courtney Brown
CB - Nnamdi Asomugha, Kelvin Hayden
FS - Michael Griffin, Anthony Smith
SS - Bernard Pollard, Chris Harris

The weak links obviously being the safeties, and even they are some of the better players on their respective real life defenses. 7 of my backups are starters in real life too.

I hope the fantasy draft will be a bit less preditable, if you played the game right and figured the order of the AI you'd get about half of the top players in the league, I usually had a team of an average of 95 in the middle of my second year after a fantasy draft.

My biggest beef with the fantasy draft is if you try to build your trenches first, your team's gonna suck. If you get all skill positions first and your last 9 starters you take or all on the O and D lines, your team is great. That aint right.

The game in real life is centered around the trenches. So Madden in their traditional fashion make sure that the game is centered on skill positions....its stupid I know but Madden isn't supposed to be appealing to true football fans such as me and you, its targeted for a broad audience of casual fans.

Madden 08 fantasy draft for PS3 got alot better then for PS2. Age is now considered by the CPU and theyll take the younger guy over older guy with the same rating. Unlike the PS2 versions the PS3 version actually takes highest rated players first instead of just all HB's and QB's 1 round and all DE's and CB' the next. TE's/FB's never get taken tell the 11th round then every CPU takes 1. K/P's are never taken tell round 27 then every CPU takes 1. Its predictable and the same players always last to about the exact same spot

Any Word on pacmans rating in the game?

8 small dots, 2 big dots and a cherry, good speed but not enough agility to get away from the ghosts. If you mean the player-formally-known-as-pacman, I dont think they have announced it yet. He's not listed in the CB ratings.
