What time did you plan on getting started?

Whenever people are ready really, if we have reliable guys we can use big boards. I doubt it will move too quickly because of time differences, there'll be a lot of European guys and if you're in then Australia as well. It's only 11 rounds so it shouldn't take too long.

Ah ok. It's just that it is already 10:35 pm over here and I was thinking that by the time 8 people join it might be the middle of the morning and I'd probably be in bed.

I'm definitely keen to participate, it's just that I'm not sure I'll fit in.

I'll count you in for the moment, another option is co-GMs. There's a limited player pool and therefore I don't want too many teams but if there's enough interest then people can share a team.

I think this is probably the best idea but note that there are some big names who pulled out for personal reasons or are semi-retired etc.

Also I'll be looking for a Co as well.

So with the injury thing, does that mean players who would have been included ie Rosicky, are now included?

So with the injury thing, does that mean players who would have been included ie Rosicky, are now included?

That's what I'm leaning towards doing. It's confusing some guys are in dodgy scenarios - check out Totti and Nesta, atm they wouldn't be eligible. I don't really mind either way, just gauging opinions.

just don't allow players who aren't in the euro 2008 than you've got a clearcut crop of players to choose from.

I select Michael Ballack, Germany.

He might be 31 years old, but he can still anchor any team. He has the experience and leadership which is extremely important and he can score the odd goal here and there too.

Rob S
06-09-2008, 08:27 AM
ballack is funny. His recent form certainly warrants this pick and I even considered him at 4, but up until the past few months he had been god-awful at chelsea. I am glad he got back on track tho....i like his game lot.

Caddy
06-09-2008, 08:35 AM
I am a huge fan of Ballack and loved what he did with the German team in the 2002 world cup. He is a class act, a great leader, and could be a solid midfield anchor for any team.

If this was a dynasty draft however, I doubt he would have been the pick. Since it isn't, he is worthy of the 5th overall pick.

OK I have finally made my selection. I select the man with the golden boot, Miroslav Klose.

This was a really tough decision, particularly with two young studs available who could easily go here. Unfortunately, I'm going to go with the proven veteran who knows how to put the ball in the back of the net.

Comments on my pick? I think pairing Mertesacker and Lahm was nice, i was planning on picking someonelse but seeing him picking a CB i felt like there are not alot of top notch defenders out there. Mertesacker is a beast and fair too. He had only 7 yellow and 1 red cards in 122 bundesliga games which is impressive. He won 100% of his 1on1s against Poland (2 but still 100% :D)

wow that's not a good selection IMO. Such a run on defenders while so far it's been the midfielders and strikers really making the difference.

its not about what is happening this year....its about who can build the best team. Mids and strikers have been making the biggest impact this year because the defenses have been ****. Hence why I have drafted 2 defenders. And plus, Torres just called carvalho the best defender in the world.
