Ever since I first downloaded Mozilla, I've sworn off IE forever.
I did try Opera for a few days. It's not bad.

Yeah, I used it back when it was Phoenix, and then Firebird, and then Firefox. I don't like IE at all.

For the sake of all web developers out there. Have both on hand. Firefox is great for everything. But some douchebag companies only build to microsoft standards.

For example. Verizon dicks its customers by creating a .net customer portal that is IE onl and will shoot you out if you're anything but IE. Silverlight by microsoft 'works' on firefox, but will still crash it sometimes. oh. and ActiveX is the most garbage piece of **** ever (microsoft object controls *BLECH*)

I use Firefox and try not to visit/use any sites that are not compatible. I find it to be a superior product all around.

Firefox. I have all three main browsers (Firefox, IE, Safari) downloaded in case on of them betrays me, and I did get Firefox 3 yesterday.

I use firefox but I don't want to switch to 3.0 because I'll probably lose my scripts. :(

Just downloaded 3.0. It's fine I guess. Pretty sure some stuff is going on in the backend I don't know about, but aside from the new auto-complete function on the address bar and the shiny new icons, I can't really say I see any difference. But yes, Firefox over IE all day.

A Perfect Score

is there really any differance? Especially as far as speed is concerned

There have been 18 people to post and all but two have chose Mozilla. Yes there is a difference. IE was chosen by CJ cuz he is old and doesn't like change. and JBond has a Mac and Safari runs really fast and smooth on Macs.

Yeah I downloaded it a few hours ago, and it did the same thing. The reply box wouldn't load. But it's working fine now.

Yeah, I know it's extremely new. I'm just used to snap snap snap there's my page. Probably just have some kinks to work out.

Die-hard firefox. I'll go to three once they're done beta-testing it. Ad Block Plus is a godsent. Also, the Firefox Graphite is a nice, low-key theme I like a lot.

Firefox has tabs too. :)

firefox was the first to have them. Microsoft 'borrowed' the idea. Tabbed browsing in IE doesn't work nearly as well as in Firefox though.

It's still being slow as hell for me, about 12 hours after I downloaded 3. I'm an impatient person to begin with but this is just ridiculous. I don't even know if I want this when I get my new comp later this summer. I'll just download a version of Firefox 2.

Is it CPU usage or is it just slow when browsing? I just fixed a problem where FF3 was having some ridiculously high numbers on CPU usage, which was occurring at least once or twice an hour. This helped me:

http://just-thinkin.net/2008/05/firefox-3-rc1-high-cpu-and-memory-use-try-this-fix/

* Type "about:config" into the FIrefox 3 RC1 location bar and tell it you’ll be careful (you’ll see what I mean).

* When the list of configuration options shows up, type "cache" without the quotes into the search bar as shown above. A list of all entries will appear with the word "cache" in them.

* Change the state of the "browser.cache.memory.enable" entry to "false" by double clicking on the entry itself. Make sure the state has indeed changed to "false".

* Restart the browser and you’re done.

The high usage numbers are normal now.

Edit:
Scratch that, It just did it again twice since I posted this. I'm switching back to 2.0 for now.
