"I predicted a number based off of a perfect season," Jackson says. "I learned something – things will come up. Two things killed me: My offensive line was just decimated, and our receivers didn't block. You look at Adrian Peterson, LaDainian Tomlinson or anyone who has a ton of yards, and those guys on the perimeter block. For me, I wasn't only looking at eight in the box, but if I happened to get through the line and out to the perimeter, the defenders were all over me."

last December at the Edward Jones Dome, he doesn't hold back, saying, "You've got to love those Rams fans who showed their loyalty by selling their tickets to Packers and Steelers fans, so half the people in the stadium were rooting against us. It was like playing road games. We ran out of the tunnel and got booed. It was ridiculous. I was livid. In St. Louis, it's one of two things. They either love me or they (expletive) hate me. I'm not a diva, but if I'm pissed

Yikes.....Steven needs to tone it down a bit. Hard to see him resigning with St. Louis after these comments and this hasn't been the first time he's made comments like this. Torry Holt is a true professional but he isn't going to take that kind of sh*t from Jackson.

I like hearing is true feelings instead of the usual B.S. most players spout off to the media just to make sure things don't look bad.

Doesn't mean I think all players should do that, just a nice refreshing change to hear a player say whats really on his mind.

Your welcome on the Eagles any day Steven Jackson, we wouldn't boo you or sell our tickets to rival fans. Plus we have a good o-line and WRs who block! :D

And a little side-bar: Steven Jackson is from Vegas!

Man, i still cry a little inside to this day over passing on Steven Jackson. Instead of having Jackson we were stuck with Julius "I'll fall if you touch me" Jones. Plus, all we got of the first was Marcus Spears. Bleh

HEY GUESS WHAT SJAX! you shouldn't even be starting. You're the 2nd best back on your team. I like him, but he should just seriously get traded for some OL and then Leonard will set the single season rushing record. In one game

It wasn't just that we missed him, we missed out on Kevin Jones too who would of been pretty nice to have also...At the time I would of also loved the hometown pick Tatum Bell over JJ, not going to act like JJ didn't have his days but I was pissed when we took him and I never grew to like him since lol.

With the return of Orlando Pace and the addition of Jacob Bell it appears that there should be a dramatic improvement in the offensive line. Plus with the addition of Donnie Avery I expect Linehan to spread it out a little more and get defenses to expand out of the box. Jackson will have a big year, IMO, and this Rams team needs some halfway decent play from their defense to contend for a playoff spot.

I was at that Steeler/Ram game, and while it was mostly Steeler fans, I wouldn't take it too hard if I were SJax. In 2005 in Minnesota it was the same way, in Atlanta too. Pretty much any Steeler away game I've been to has been mostly Steeler fans, except for KC, which seems to have pretty devout fan base.

Isn't this his contract year too?

I really think SJax was just letting some frustrations out on such a horrible season. The Rams should do alright this year, if they don't contend for the division title and Jackson should be in far better shape than he was last year. I mean, that's really a freakish thing what happened to St. Louie's o-line last year.

Jackson has already said that he wants to stay with the Rams, but they're gonna have to pay him.

I'm assuming it's just frustration too. That was just an awful season. He'd probably be a lot more happy if the Rams were winning most of their games and contending for a title. Then the problems of receivers not blocking and home fans disappearing probably wouldn't be much of a bother, if they were happening at all.

SJax should just put on 50 pounds and grow 2 inches then they could move him to tackle where he could block for Leonard, or he could lose some weight, and be moved to WR and he could block on the perimeter.

im from St. Louis and I'm a HUGE rams fan and i know have steven feels, the st. louis fans fanbase is terrible, when you have people walking around ROOTING for their team to go 0-16 so that they will "finally be the best at something" (trust me i heard that kind of stuff all year) there is something wrong with the fans. Im hoping ram fans wise up and start rooting for their team or else there will be no SJax or STL Rams in a year or two

S-Jax is an elite back, he will get paid eventually. Probably a contract on par with Larry Johnson.

Also, I have no problem with him sounding off on his receivers.

I'm going to mis having JJ on the cowboys, he was such a wuss running the ball for them and yet people still thought he was the shiznit.

I'm not saying he will get traded or anything but his comments could lead to some bad air in the locker room.

I'm so glad Denver passed on him I really thought they would take him that year D.J. Williams is a great player but I don't even what to think about what SJ would have done in that system.

Forte got that on lockdown.

I'm all for the Forte bandwagon, but give me a shot a Steven Jackson and I don't care what kind of promise Forte has. Fantasies aside though, I'm content with Forte, at least until I see him on the field.
