View Full Version : ESPN: Images Of Our Century

Back in 1999 as the new millennium dawned, ESPN did a ton of specials on the century and how sports changed and shaped with it. They still replay some of the specials on Classic, each of them are truly remarkable but none of them stand out as much as the final thing they did in the 20th Century. During the very last SportsCenter of the year they put together a highlight package of seven minutes of the greatest moments of the entire Century. Here it is, in it's original form...

I get goosebumps every time I watch it. It's truly a testament to how good ESPN used to be and was ironically the last great thing they ever did.

You mean to tell me that you don't like how ESPN figuritively blows the Red Sox and the Yankees!?!?!

I remember watching that in like fourth grade, I haven't seen it since then. ESPN really was so much better back then, sportcenter has been essentially the same episode for three years. Great video and great song.

Wow I'm so excited that the Vladimir Konstantinov hit is in there. I haven't watched the whole thing, but do they show Stevie Y giving the Cup to him after '98?

Ok ok... my picks were homer picks a bit, But come on i really have a hard time you honestly believe that those 4 plays were the best of the last 8 years.

I forgot Bourque. He's the biggest of them all.
If there is anything to take from this time, it is the possibility that Crosby or Ovechkin could be anywhere close to scratching the surface of Gretzky and Lemieux.
