Out 4-6 weeks. Will probably miss the beginning of camp and the exhibition games.

Probably nothing too serious...

That's a lot of time missed for training camp. Good thing he's a seasoned vet.

yeah, thats why I won't think it will hurt him. if this were some young QB who needed those reps, it would probably be a bigger deal but its Peyton....he'll be just fine

I don't think this hurts him at all.

Any reason why it wasn't done sooner? Maybe they found something after the fact, not that the time is too vital, just wondering if it was a problem that just came up or not.

i think it says in there that it had been brought up in like February but has now become infected.

Not much control over when infections happen i guess

Sorgi has his chance to get some first team snaps, otherwise known as shock and amaze. Meanwhile the other two guys will get killed with the second/third team OL.

But seriously, I'm sure Peyton will get at least one preseason game in before the season opener.

Media is trying to hype this and say Peyton won't get to start the first game at Lucas Oil Field....

I think there really is no doubt that he is going to start in the season opener at the new stadium though.

This isn't a super big deal, but it is something to certainly monitor. Any time someone has surgery it should be looked at carefully and obviously there's a few problems with the knee and you never know when those problems may arise again, if they ever do. Missing some of training camp and some of the preseason games is kinda of a big deal too. I know he's Peyton Manning and he has good chemistry with his backs and receivers, but those reps that he's missing are chances to further develop that chemistry. I think it'll take until the Colts' bye week, week 4, for the Colts offense and Peyton to be in full rythmn.

There's no way Manning misses a game. He's developing a nice little consecutive start streak himself...

ESPN is making a mountain out of an anthill on this one, just like they do with everything. He'll be fine and the Colts will start the season just as well as they always do.

ESPN's Shaun King is saying 3 weeks is a more realistic timetable, there's a link in the Colts forum...

This is no big deal for Peyton. If it was some injury prone wuss than maybe, but no doubt Peyton will be ready to go for week 1.

With most of these things they set timelines.

So it probably wasn't feeling as good as it should've for this point in time so they decided to cut him instead of waiting and possibly having to get him surgery later.
