1) Yes and No. Morale is Madden's weak attempt at simulating real life "troubles" that players have. It more or less was incorporated because of the amounts of hold outs and diva WR's that have suddenly appeared in the league. It is their attempt at making the game "realistic." Basically, morale is just a meter of how happy the player is. It really means nothing. The only thing it determines is how likely the player is to re-sign with your team once his contract is up.

2) Are you sure? I've never heard about this. I googled this and you posted the same quesitons at operation sports.. there is no clear answer. the only thing i can think of is the player doesn't like to be "tampered with" and by changing his equiptment you are forcing him to wear stuff that he doesn't like?

3) Raise a player's morale by getting rid of other players with low morale that aren't necessarily key team figures /leaders. when you trade a great player who is a team leader, or who is respected, player's morale will go down. Get rid of the locker room diva's to increase morale... also.. every one likes bank. Renew a contract, give them mad $$$, and naturally they get happier.

Does the outcome of the game change at all with the way you sim it? For example, will the game have a different outcome if I simmed it on the menu or if I watched the game without controlling anyone?

I have a couple of questions on the roster updates.

1) Does EA Sports release roster updates after every week of the playoffs?
2) When do the final roster updates usually get released?

And finally, I want to ask you guys... what team do you think is the most interesting or worthwhile to rebuild in Madden? While I'm waiting for the final roster updates to be released, I'm thinking of starting a sim franchise to rebuild a crumbling franchise. I'm thinking Oakland, Kansas City, or maybe even Detroit. But I'm still not sure yet, any ideas on that one?

Updates.... The final update is after the superbowl taking off all the injured players, so nobodies hurt. As for each playoff game, who knows as theyve changed how many updates they do from last year.

I actually just started a new franchise. The rosters are set as the would be rosters if my mock draft from last year (http://www.draftcountdown.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17532) came true. My quarterback is Redman, but Flacco has played very well in preseason... he's been playing more like Matt Ryan than Ryan himself! But maybe it's just because I'm better playing with stronger armed quarterbacks. My starting RB is Norwood, and I have Forte coming off the bench, and Dunn too. Norwood carries it around 15 times, Forte 10, and Dunn around 5 or whenever he needs to. My receivers are terrible, and my offensive line is kind of bad, but I make quick reads and Flacco can dart the ball out of the pocket real quick. I know... Flacco is more like Ryan in the game than Ryan is himself!

What a difference a year makes. First year with the Texans I collectively averaged about 3.5 ypc, Slaton ran for a thousand but at about 3.7. Next year Slaton and a rookie 'Mathew Perry' (yes I drafted him on name basis alone, turns out he's sick) are at about 6.1 (on about 250 carries) and 5.9 (about 80), they've combined for over 10tds as well.

I'm not sure why though, I havent changed much about how I run, I only added a rookie RG (79 overall but stats in the right places, def an upgrade). Winston has been missing most of the year and had Duke Preston (FA) out at tackle and i'm pulling big plays out my ass at will seemingly.

Not a complaint, just weird I thought.

So, I was under the impression that I sucked in this year's Madden ('09). My record online was like 6-6 I think.

But me and some of my friends are real competitive with it, so I had to step it up. So I started playing more.

So I get online and start playing a lot in the past few days. A lot. I'm now on a 15 game win streak and am 28-8 overall (I was 6-6 if I remember correctly!). Pretty impressive.

I also beat a level 20 player 67-7. Actually he quit when it was 58-7. He was the Raiders, I was the Broncos. Selvin Young ran for over 220 yards if I remember correctly, three runs over 40 yards, all three touchdowns. Over 10 yards a carry.

No they stop doing updates after that season is done. It is debateable it is more realistic as far as real football goes.

Nothing major, you'd have to restart it. But, you have it set for 11 games. What this means is every person in the league has to play every other person 11 times.

Has anyone figured out how to run a faster 40 or do the bench right, I can't get it. I ran a 4.44 with Willie Parker a few time using a different why then i normaly do it. But I tried with some other player with a speed of 86 and he got 5.66.

Also the Bull rush or any rush moves for taht reason, do they even work? James Harrison gets blocked easily and then if you try and rip through they just push you back. Any idea if its actually works?

the money play i have had with DMac is out of the Strong set, do a stretch play to the side with 2 tight ends and user control one of the tight ends and pancake the guy. good for about 10 everytime lol.

Not sure what your problem is. Darren McFadden is one of the best backs in the game, or it seems so when I use him. He is money.

I also do better with Speed Backs like Leon Washington or Chris Johnson or even Reggie Bush. Ive used McFadden before but i rather use the other 3 i said before. I also like to use Michael Turner, He has got enough speed but has strength.

Got it. Thing is, i was logging in under my regular profile, but my X Box Live tag is different, and that's where the roster was saved. I didn't know you had to be logged onto the Live profile to use the online rosters.

Real random, but as soon as you buy it, drain it. Leave it on until it dies, then charge it again full, and drain it again. Do that a few times, then make sure you don't over-charge it. It should be good.

I always have the same philosophy when doing a Fantasy Draft, I don't have one starter usually over the age of 28 so when I get to the offseason and the draft (which is fun for me) I really have no needs.

Exactly. I've tried it in practice mode time after time, and if you throw it right when he's gonna make his break, the CB jumps it. If you throw it late, he'll get jumped also. I just haven't found a way to throw that route, and it was one of my favorite 3rd down routes.

All right. Epic game for me. Read:

I am playing at a new difficulty. I upped the sliders to make the games really hard. This ended up in me losing to the Lions in week 1 as the Falcons. Now its week 2 in Tampa Bay. Also, I am playing without roster updates.

The first half goes all right. I can't get any offense going. The Bucs are up 6-0 Bucs.

In the 3rd quarter, things go abnormally. After continuously being stuffed, Graham breaks 5 tackles en route to a 74 yard TD run. My offense continues to stall. 13-0 Bucs.

4th quarter begins, and my offense continues to be ineffective. After a failed drive, I get the ball back with 3:50 to go in the game. TB punts the ball, and I stop paying attention (I was watching a 3OT bball game) and my PR gets the ball in the endzone and takes it out with defenders right in front of him. I couldnt change anything so he gets tackled at the 3 yard line. Now, Ryan's epicness begins. I hit all sorts of receivers and march my way downfield. After taking a sack at the 2 minute warning, I hit the Falcons 5th WR (the PR who got cut mid season) for the TD. 13-7 Bucs. All right. Epic game for me. Read:

I am playing at a new difficulty. I upped the sliders to make the games really hard. This ended up in me losing to the Lions in week 1 as the Falcons. Now its week 2 in Tampa Bay. Also, I am playing without roster updates.

The first half goes all right. I can't get any offense going. The Bucs are up 6-0 Bucs.

In the 3rd quarter, things go abnormally. After continuously being stuffed, Graham breaks 5 tackles en route to a 74 yard TD run. My offense continues to stall. 13-0 Bucs.

4th quarter begins, and my offense continues to be ineffective. After a failed drive, I get the ball back with 3:50 to go in the game. TB punts the ball, and I stop paying attention (I was watching a 3OT bball game) and my PR gets the ball in the endzone and takes it out with defenders right in front of him. I couldnt change anything so he gets tackled at the 3 yard line. Now, Ryan's epicness begins. I hit all sorts of receivers and march my way downfield. After taking a sack at the 2 minute warning, I hit the Falcons 5th WR (the PR who got cut mid season) for the TD. 13-7 Bucs. Comeback routes, hitches, curls are all ineffective against all madden, even outs get jumped at far too high a rate, they need to build a smart enough AI that instead of cheating and just boosting the attributes of the computer the difficutly change is legitimate.

Also deep balls are retardly hard to complete without an elite receiver, a receiver with 5+ more speed than the corner or rocket catching, the db will always jump in the air and swat the ball with his fingertips, there is no realism or varied animations the db will never miss.

Yeah i know, they always seem to play a safety over the top in passing downs, so i'll spread the field, make sure i leave no LB's defending the middle, then run deep in patterns with my X and Y receivers, and send my TE and slot into slants to the outside. The middle ins are always open.

I fooled around with him a bit and found out his overall goes up 2 points if I move him to SS. I dont know if I will keep him there because a near 300 pound safety is absurd. I will play a game with him at SS before I make my decision.

Oh, it's very sweet. Nice accuracy and power, especially after I boosted his rating. Then when you get to year 2 with his progression, he just becomes unstoppable.

did you download the patch then its fixed but you to start your franchise after installing patch. If you don't want to lose your godly team, save your team and then start franchise all over again but do it using your saved team.

Depends on what kind of zone. If it's a Tampa-2 than I find success with plays involving slot receivers/TE's running posts. However, your O-Line needs to give you enough time for them to get open. For Cover 3's I would say anything that involves your receivers running intermediate routes across the field. Exact plays I'm not positive on, but I usually try to find a good mix of these kinds of plays so I can mix it up.

Four verticals will beat any zone coverage in the game besides a four deep zone.

I know because me and my friends use cover three like mad, and cover two can't cover all the deep routes at once. A cover 3 zone is near impossible to beat in the 0-10 yard range, and very hard to beat over the top as well. Try to hit the guys 10-20 yards down the field.

But yeah, four verticals works well.

And I can run the ball very well against human players, not so much against the computer. Not sure about your situation.
