No they'll get you fantasy points. We'll get a lot of sacks and turnovers like always, we just can't tackle for ****.

But hopefully for the Bears there's a stud safety for them to draft in the first round this April.

Bend but don't break means you get pushed back sometimes because you're smaller. It doesn't mean that you accept ****** tackling and bad angles.

It's a preseason game, I'm not sure luck really means a whole lot. They're lucky if Mike Brown doesn't break his leg or something.

Forte was a 2nd round pick, not 1st as Buck said, although he'll produce more than former 4th overall pick Cedric Benson.

Yuck, bad drop.

I'm not crazy about it, but was clear-cut that Tillman never played the ball.

LOL, not surprised to see Vernon Davis line up in the wrong place.

PS. Told you so. :)

Geo
08-21-2008, 07:38 PM
Oh, Daniel Manning. Seems like he always finds a way to take a step back.

Seriously, I don't care if Devin Hester is being used as a wide receiver: you allow the GOAT return man to touch the ball on any and every return he can. You're paying him enough.

bearsfan_51
08-21-2008, 07:39 PM
There's no need for Hester to do any returns in the preseason. He knows what he's doing.

Evem though Ryan doesn't even have a YPA of 5 in this game, which would have to change for the regular season, I think he'll be starting from week 1. He seems to be the type of QB who will be throwing his fair share of TD's while adjusting to the NFL game, likely with the usual rookie INT's, kinda like Peyton did.

IceKubes
08-22-2008, 08:51 PM
Dallas is looking pretty excellent at the moment, pretty much doing whatever they want on offense and getting some nice pressure on defense. Schaub struggled really bad early and he came back with a decent scoring drive but overall not a very good game for him. Slaton is looking good but thats about it. There was a potentially bad injury to Harry Williams a WR for the Texans early in the game. Carried off on a stretcher after a neck injury, hope he is going to be alright.

Tell me more about his performance. His YPA is pretty disappointing.

Well, it's not unusual. Most teams with young QB's facing starting time will look to boost their confidence in the preseason with short, quick and safe routes. The Titans were also without Haynesworth and Bulluck as both rested, so it was a pretty soft Titans D. With that in mind, a 6.8 yards per completion performance isn't great, but at least he didn't look bad doing it. He has a place on the field early IMO and I'd expect to see a few good games this season from him for sure.

He looked confident and accurate, and was making his decisions quickly. As I said though, the offense will have to change once the games start to count as a gameplan like that would be hard to score with after any offensive penalty and would have to change quickly if the Falcons fell behind.

Similar special teams injury/incident happened last year in Houston, Week 3 I think it was, with the Colts. Roy Hall collided into a guy on special teams and separated his shoulder, unfortunately the Colts couldn't wait for him to heal up given all their injuries so they put him on IR. But much more unfortunate was that Texans defensive lineman Cedric Killings (thanks google) had to be carted away in an ambulance and, although he regained movement, his football career was over. Has to be a grim locker room for Texans special teams players right now.

He's from UNLV so he won't bust.

But really, its the pre-season, so it doesn't matter and do you realize that he's going up against? Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson, not exactly the easiest WR duo to cover.

hmmm the same guys that Brandon McDonald is holding in check??? Yep. I know. I wasn't born yesterday.

Hixon toasted him as well. How about the average talent with the Jets? How about 4 pre season games and all of last regular season too? The guy has been burned way more than just today. I was fine last year though because he was a rookie and banking on him improving. In 2 full training camps now he has not shown an ounce of progression of any kind.

Brandon McDonald has played the same recievers Wright has and he has been holding them in check even locking down some of the games best recievers.

Leinart... is just so horrible this is his statline from the preseason game.

4-12 0 TDs 3 INTs 2.8 Passer Rating.

Warner should be handed this job, and if they don't give it to him he has every right to complain and demand a trade or the job. Warner gives the Cards the best chance at the playoffs, but I guess if they choose Warner over Leinart... Leinart will be a little whiney ***** and cry, so he loses confidence and he is on the fast lane to being... dare I say it a BUST.
