Saw a game break and Chris Beanie Wells injured his foot. Was carted off the field does not look good...

Wells fell to the ground in pain before he was even hit, fumbling the ball away on a first and goal at the Youngstown State 2 before grasping for his foot.

Looks like he'll be out several weeks, maybe less. Shouldn't affect his draft stock but might hurt OSU's NC hopes.

No word on his injury yet though....just my opinion.

Good thing you stayed at a Holliday Inn last night.

lol, nice one. You forgot the Express though.

The maid was telling me how most ankle injuries aren't too serious, assuming it is an ankle injury.

Assuming it's not broken, I'd say it only hurts his Heisman chances.

and he'll be out for USC...

and he'll be out for USC...

That's what I was pointing at with my first post. I'd still take OSU with M. Wells and Saine over USC though. The problem will be staying consistent in conference play if Beanie's out.

He came back onto the field, walking by himself. May not be that bad. Could see him rest against Ohio and play USC?

What else is new...

The only knock on Beanie is durability and it looks like that question isn't going away.

Definitely the way to go. Rest him next week and get him 100%. It didn't look near as serious as some above have made it sound and he should be fine for USC.

He probably just didn't want to play anymore :P Beanie is a bit soft on that injury front.

Its a trap for USC.

Wasn't it 30+ to nothing when he got hurt?

What was he doing in the game against Youngstown St. with that big of a lead?

I'm pretty sure it was not 30-plus at the point, and I believe it happened in the early third quarter. Wells had carried the ball 13 times at the point, if I recall correctly.

It was either 23 or 26 to 0.

Trying to win the Heisman, I can only assume.

I heard Beanie told someone on the team it was his toe. If it is then my guess would be some kind of turf toe or something. Sounds like he will miss the Ohio game next week and could return for the USC whopper. Either way he'll either miss the USC game or not be 100% for the USC game so that's not that good of news either way. Not a "serious" injury they say but he's still hurt. Boom Herron and Brandon Saine are both really good, but neither is in Beanie's ballpark so we could still definitely beat SC in their place without him or with him not being 100% but the chances go down a little which sucks. I hope it's nothing though.

yeah and all the starters were in there; it's always easy to second guess decisions when something like this happens, but it is unwarranted

Albeit early, he looked like he could of easily won the heisman this year, not like he has many tough games early on so he would of had some crazy stats...Really wanted to see him vs USC 100%, takes some of the luster out of the game.

"I spoke to Beanie and he says it's just his big toe and he'll be fine. He told me here in the training room," Pretorious said immediately after the game.

Everything I hear sounds optomistic, and I usually see the glass as half full...but I am pessimistic that he'll be 100% on September 13th. We don't need some little injury to ruin what could be a magical season with a what looks to be Tressel's best team in his tenure quite possibly.

EDIT: Our insiders say they expect him to play 9/13. but will he be beanie or just an average back with a bum foot?
