I think it really helps Detroit. Smith wasn't getting the job done and Johnson is perfect for our offense. This will relieve our defense from having to be on the field too long and we will be really able to use the run to set up the pass. Our offense just moved into the pretty decent class.

Rudi Johnson was done in Cincinnati. I really don't see him doing anything Detroit. Maybe as a goal line back. Nothing more.

Yeah I really do not know how effective he will be anymore

I remember when Jamal Lewis was done (or at least I thought he was), but he had a solid year for Cleveland.

I'm hoping Rudi's able to churn out a good season or two.

Hopefully he is solid enough for a couple season to find out what we have in Smith. I just hope that this doesn't keep us from drafting Wells or Moreno if we have a chance.

This should rocket the Lions into the Super Bowl.

I wish all the best for Rudi and think he might have a season or two left in him if he can get those hamstrings healthy.

If 1304 yards at 4.4 per carry in 14 games with 11 touchdowns is solid, I wonder what great is.

Really like this signing, if he has a good year (not great) do the Lions still go out and look for another runner, because I question Rudi's durability. Just a thought.

how many touches will Kevin Smith get?

He'll get a lot to start the year. The Lions are going to ease Rudi in for the first few games and then go from there.

Lewis was also on an ineffective offense. Cincinnati has a good offense. I don't remember Lewis being bothered by a serious hamstring injury that never healed.

I'd be very surprised if Rudi does something in Detroit, a place where the offensive line isn't known to be very good and Jon Kitna is at quarterback. But we'll see.

It depends on the person's point of view. Those terms can be or cannot be synonymous depending on the person. For example solid and great are pretty much the same thing to be. I don't mince over words too much.

I called it. Yay for me.

He'll do ok, they've got tater tot and the super rookie to take away carries so he'll probably only see play in crap time and if the team is running all day, which I don't see them doing with their receivers.

Cincy asked him to lose weight, so he dropped down to about 215, which is when he got hurt and his stats got bad, but he is now back to his bruiser weight at 235. i expect him to have a very solid season, at least for the role he will have in the offense!

Bengals didn't ask him to do that. He lost that weight on his own because he was tired of people saying that he didn't have speed. But the fact is that he gained all that weight and still is having injury problems.

Johnson lost the weight. Got tired of people saying he wasn't a big play threat (which he was not). Turned into a dance at the line of scrimmage and didn't work out.

To whoever said he hurt the same hammy twice, it's on the opposite leg this time.

I don't know, I like this pickup a lot. A solid thumper is what they've been looking for since they signed Duckett a while ago.

Pound it out, playaction to Calvin and Roy. Good stuff.

There are still unconfirmed reports that Tatum Bell fumbled the bags on several occasions before dropping them off at the woman's house.

Also unconfirmed is a report that he could only carry the bags one and a half yards at a time before he was caught by the shirt and brought down when fleeing from overweight security guards. http://draftcountdown.com/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif
