The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have traded G Dan Buenning to the Chicago Bears for an undisclosed draft pick.

It is also being reported that the team has reacquired G/C Sean Mahan from the Steelers.

Thoughts??

Doesn't seem to be too much of a deal to me. Trading away a versatile lineman for a versatile lineman with more experience. The Buenning trade was reportedly for the 6th round draft pick we recently traded them in exchange for Griese and their 7th rounder. I'm not sure about the Mahan trade though.

Quick comment then I have to go.

We apparently know that Dan won't ever be the same and we needed a versatile healthy lineman, albeit terrible.

I'm guessing the Bucs like Mahan better as a backup center.

Mahan is John Wade's younger clone. Absolutely worthless at center, then especially worthless at guard. Buenning at least was strong at guard. Oh well, Buenning had little place on this team anyway with our guard depth. I'm happy with getting our pick back from the Bears, but I don't really like the message they send that they will pay more for Sean Mahan than they will for Greg White or Earnest Graham. I'm not even sure his play is worth the league min, but he struck gold with the Steelers.

Not really news-worthy nonetheless.
