ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions running back Rudi Johnson says his luggage was taken from the team's practice facility by Tatum Bell.

Johnson was waived by Cincinnati, met with Lions president Matt Millen on Monday and signed a free-agent contact. During the meeting, his two duffel bags were taken from the team's headquarters.

Johnson said Wednesday he was shown surveillance footage Tuesday afternoon that captured the theft.

A message seeking comment was left Wednesday with Bell's agent, Kennard McGuire. Johnson replaced Bell on Detroit's 53-man roster.

The empty bags were returned Tuesday evening, but Johnson said he is still missing $200, his ID, credit cards and clothes. Johnson said he had spoken with Bell and did not plan to involve the police.

Bells career is over. Not that his one dimensional play wasn't enough already, but because when you steal from teammates (as kellen winslow would say) go to war with, its makes it hard on them to trust you..

So what is more meaningless; Bell's 1000 yard rushing season in Denver, or Lelie's 1000 yard receiving season in Denver?

Bell rushed for 956 and 8 in '05, previous to rushing for 1K in '06. Still, the point remains:

Mike Shanahan, an excellent judge of talent and character.

Bell is lucky the team already cut him. He'd get his ass beat by other Lions players for this garbage.

Nevermind Rudi not filing a police report, with his money, ID, and credit cards still missing. I would have already done so.

Good to see that Oklahoma State education put to use: (http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080903/BLOG21/80903043/&imw=Y)

“I ain’t no thief,” Bell told the Free Press in a phone interview. “I ain’t never been one, and I ain’t never going to be one.

Why is everyone calling them teammates? They were what on the same team for like a couple hours. He did it because the man took his job and he was pissed. Leaving peacefully would have been the better option if Bell still wanted to play football.

You really can't write this stuff. What did Bell think he would gain?

Ya, I think I'd be ready to hand out a beat-down if I were Rudi.

This is easily the funniest NFL news I've heard in a while. Yes, even more so than Ocho Cinco.

Not to steal anyone's thunder, but I posted this story in the Rudi Johnson Cut thread.

Its is really rediculous that he did that. He "mistakenly" took that bag. Wow.

You know those insurance fraud commercials where you see where for example there is a nerdy guy, but a girl talks and she talks about buying make-up and shoes etc.

They should do this with Rudi Johnson and have a girls (Tatum Bell claims he gave the luggage to a woman) voice talk about buying stuff with the credit cards, that would be a funny commercial lol.

This is almost better than Latarian Milton. Not quite but approaching Latarian status.
