Great college LB, and at least a decent pro-player. What happened to him?

Damn, it's like that? When did he fall-off? I thought he was pretty solid with the Vikes back in the day.

Anyone else notice a trend?
1998: C. Claiborne | 1999: L. Arrington | 2000: D. Morgan | 2001: R. Calmus | 2002: E. Henderson | 2003: T. Lehman | 2004: D. Johnson | 2005: P. Posluszny | 2006: P. Willis | 2007: J. Laurinaitis
I think D. Johnson's and E. Henderson's turns for the curse happens soon.

No way Willis disappears, unless he gets a career ending injury. He is just too good. I'm a little biased, but Poz will be a solid LB for the Bills. Bruce, you skipped this past draft, who disappears from this draft? You have the years a bit behind as well, all of them should be moved up one. That is a weird trend though. But there is usually one relativley high picked LB that disappears each year.

Injury can be a cruel mistress.

Yeah but you have to agree that is the only way Willis isn't a perennial Pro-Bowler in this league.

I can definitely agree with that.

Claiborne got injured and was out for a year. He was picked up as a back up, bounced around a little while, and that's the last I heard of him.
I would think he still has something in the tank but who am I to argue with coaches and GM's?

Woot! Hook em ;)
And i'm surprised how long it took EJ Henderson to really blossom, but he's been beasting it as of recent.

Yeah it will take something extreme for Patrick to fall of the map :)

5 million concussions do count as career ending IMO.

What happened to him? He was a piece of **** bust that's what happened. Maybe a bit unfair, but I hated him.

Last I know Claiborne was on the Rams. I think he is retired now. As a Rams fan I have a pretty good idea of why he is out of the league. He was decent against the run, but he was such a ridiculously huge handicap in the passing game that he could barely ever be put on the field.

are you just listing first round linebackers? is that the only trend? because there were a few more than that who have stuck and have had successful careers. for example, see Urlacher, Ryan

Just Butkis winners.
Didn't katzenmoyer also win a butkus? He was a huge failure in this league.
