With the threads asking about 3-4 prospects for the draft, I figured I'd ask which teams play a 3-4 defense in college football.

Virginia plays a 3-4.
I think Cal is playing around with a 3-4 this year too.
I'm pretty sure Kansas State plays a 3-4.

Please add some 3-4 teams. I think this will help with figuring out 3-4 prospects too.

Notre Dame.

Since when?

Hawaii also runs a version of the 34, but I don't think it's a legit 34. You'd have to ask D-Unit I think he's a Hawaii fan considering I've seen him post about Mel Purcell and Colt Brennen and that he's from Hawaii.

i wouldnt say any team runs the 3-4 in the same style as say the steelers or patriots. its pretty much impossible to assemble the required personnel. its hard to do it in the nfl. it generally takes years. there just arent that many guys in college who "fit the mold".you kind of have to grow into being a 3-4 end. tall big athletic ends, nose tackles who can truly eat up two gaps consistently, lbs who can rush the passer and also drop off and do lb things generally dont exist at the college level. i guess you could try it but then youd probably look pretty bad

Last year I believe.

Alabama does.

Minnesota runs it now that Ted Roof has taken over. I'd say it's 50/50 at this point, but they are making the transition.

Their best senior prospect, Willie VanDeSteeg, is probably better suited as a 4-3 end, although I could see him as a 3-4 OLB.

Kansas State plays both a 3-4 and a 4-3

More college teams run a 3-3-5 than a true 3-4.

BYU is a team to find a lot of good 3-4 DL Talent.

Just go to rivals.com and look down they're college rosters and their base defense is selectable.

Well, Virginia runs a pure 3-4 defense and recruits personnel for that base every year. That's why they produce huge DEs (size-wise) like Chris Canty and Chris Long. Next up, Matt Conrath at 6'7" and 270 lbs.
