"My name has been associated with so much controversy. As soon as the name Chad Johnson became available I decided this was my chance to upgrade my image and to get a clean start. The name Chad Johnson is not a stretch for me because I am a Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver just like the former Chad Johnson. I hope many fans of the former Chad Johnson will begin to accept me as their own."

In other news.

Reportedly, an inmate at the Hamilton County Jail has filed paperwork to legally change his name to Chris Henry. Steven Phillips, who is serving an 11 year sentence for several gun felonies and domestic violence convictions, feels changing his name to Chris Henry is his chance to upgrade his image and to get a clean start.

This made me LOL.

If its true, looks like Ocho Cinco won't have to pay for those jerseys that were already printed.

it did make me giggle.

there are some extremely ******** people on this board, just helping them out. It's my act of charity for the day.

I'd never heard of Derf so I believed it at first. The links to other stories is what gave it away for me though. On a side note, I think Henry should do it. It would be so hilarious.

How in the world can you take a link to a funnier story as refutation?

How in the world can you take a link to a funnier story as refutation?Who's to say the link you posted was funnier? It was more ridiculous and less believable. If people didn't know it was fake then good let them believe it.

If someone didn't know that was fake they wouldn't have the intelligence to operate a computer.

The person who wrote this story forgot the jersey number 85 would still belong to Ocho. So the excess jerseys with the combination of 85 and Johnson would still not solve the problem.

...unless Chad wanted his jersey number to something other than 85 and still have the last name printed being Ocho Cinco. hahahahaa. I wouldn't put that past him. LMAO.

I get what you're saying, but its satire, I'm not exactly going to be checking its accuracies anytime soon. Bottom line, it was funny, especially the last line.
