If Stafford enters and we get him a 10, thats pretty much a win in my book. I hope we do better than that though....

Grab a future LG and RT in the next few rounds and that would make for a halfway decent Bears draft

I'm usually against the Raiders selecting an OT in the first round under Cable's ZBS but my feeling here is Eugene Monroe is too valuable of a player to overlook regardless. Great pick.

Ok Packers pick, DT is a need but I'm not sure that Taylor is a 1st round prospect. I'd be more tempted to go for an OT like Jamon Meredith or more likely a CB like Macho Harris or Mike Mickens.

Not a fan of the bills pick, whitner's got one safety spot on lock down and ko was impressive as a rookie, inconsistent but so are most rookies, last season he spent almost the whole season injured, so he gets this year to prove he belongs. Bigger needs at DE as Schobel's good but Kelsay's a poor pass rusher and ellis looks like a specialist so a stud would do wonders, SLB as Crowell seems to be gone or a TE who can block and help stretch the seam and give them more height to open up the midgets, evans and roscoe.

For the eagles: the right positions, the wrong players.

I'm not so sure of the Bills choice of Moore. I have to see Simpson play a little bit more at FS. He missed all of last season, but looked promising in his rookie season. However, if Simpson has a bad season, I think I'd love this pick.

Great Miami pick. I like it, it's different and it fills a HUGE need, maybe even our biggest. Good job!

3 49ers- Michael Johnson DE/OLB
If we are drafting that high, believe when I say we will be going for a QB-WR or WR-QB in our first two rounds. Johnson is a great player and I would welcome him, it's just not the pickwe need though. I think grabbing Stafford or Crabtree would have been a better choice.

25 Saints- Brian Cushing OLB
Ok, I'm slowly starting to change my tune on what I think the Saints will do with this pick, especially after checking out Aaron curry and watching Cushing pwn Ohio State. I'm ok with this pick despite still feeling there will be some wheeling and dealing done by the Saints on draft day.

What has Stafford done to warrant being a first round pick? Absolutely nothing. All he has right now is a big arm and potential.

He threw the ball 350 and ran 210 times last year as a sophmore. This year so far he has thrown it more than he ran. I expect big things from him and I also think Stafford is overrated because he just has a big arm and plays for a big school.

It's not about what he's done. That's not what evaluation of talent is. It's also about what he can do. He's still a raw QB.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: Stafford has a Brett Farve or John Elway type arm. He's plays in an NFL style offense (Tebow can't say the same). The throws Stafford makes right now are throws Tebow wont make until he gets in the NFL, and that assuming he plays QB in the NFL. Tebow makes simple reads and simple throws. Stafford is so far ahead of Tebow as a prospect right now, it isn't even funny. His mechanics are better, his arm strength is far better, and his accuracy is very much like Jay Cutler coming out: Inconsistent.

Stafford will be similar to Cutler, and he's easily the best NFL caliber QB in the country.

Any Mock that has Michael Johnson going in the top 10, and going to SF in the top 10 is atrocious.

1. Michael Johnson has to have a huge season to rise that high, and he's off to a horrible start.
2. SF already has an athletic bust at OLB. His name is Manny Lawson. We don't need 2 of them.

WR has to be the position of interest. Darrius Haywerd-Bey. He's a perfect fit and the 49ers will be picking much lower than 3rd.

Great pick excellent value there but Crabtree is also very tempting cause the fact that Oakland has High School type of Wr's.

I'm not sure I'm ready to call Manny a bust yet, from what I saw and heard he had a good preseason and is doing ok so far this year. Keep in mind they are experimenting on how to use him better so give him a little more time.

I'll agree that WR is far more a need then DE at this point.

Manny Lawson isn't a bust, banger. He drops into coverage and plays the run well but doesn't put up sacks because he is rarely ever rushing the passer. Sunday the 49ers played in a nickel package all game and I don't think he was on the field for 10 defensive snaps which is why the Seahawks ran all over us and Carlson killed us.

But all that said I still don't want the 49ers to draft Johnson even though a pass rusher is our biggest need

I guess I call him a bust because I wanted Jonathan Joseph there or a pass rushing OLB (We got Harylson later, so I was happy about that since I liked him quite a bit). Since there wasn't a pass rusher on the board, I wanted our second (or third) biggest area of need: CB. I thought Joseph was great value at 22; Lawson terrible value at 22. Right now Joseph is the best player in the Bengal's secondary, and Lawson is a very good situational player. I also wanted (Jay Cutler, but knew that wasn't a possibility) Michael Huff at 6 instead of Vernon Davis. I really didn't like their draft at all in '06, but it was considered by many to be the best draft of any team (at the time). I haven't heard much about Michael Huff since he plays for Oakland, and I don't watch any of their gams. Not a fan of picking TEs in the top 15 unless you have very few needs (like 2 and TE being one of them).

Yeah Johnson seems like more of a developmental player right now. I guess we will see how is senior year goes and maybe he will emerge. Hopefully the niners are not picking that high though.

Tebow is not a good pick for the Chiefs.

If we're drafting a QB in the top of round 1, it's gotta be Stafford. He has much more upside than Tebow (imo) and is easily the most NFL ready QB in this years draft eligible class.

We would be drafting Stafford on potential, for which he has a great deal. I'm just not impressed with Tebow at all.

If Stafford can show leadership anywhere near as good as Tebow's I'd consider him miles ahead of tebow. I love TT and he's going to be a special player in the right scheme, but he's dumb as rocks so it's really important he land in a good situation. That said he has shown more leadership than Stafford by far so far.

Can't complain about the Crabtree pick. WR is a huge need and Crabtree is a solid prospect.

William Moore in the first round is the biggest waste of a pick for the Bills. Safety may be the strongest position on our defense with Whitner, Simpson, Bryan Scott, George Wilson, and John Wendling. Personally I think a TE or possibly even another tall physical WR is needed in round one.

More so than a stud DE? I know there's a lot of money going to Kelsay, but he's holding that D back against the pass.

The homer in me loves the Bengals pick, I'm dying to see a Buckeye drafted in stripes... but the objective fan in me says it's a decent pick. Wells has so much potential, his strength, speed, vision, they're all top class. But his toughness and injury prone body really concern me. Could just end up being Perry/Irons part tres.

I feel the defense is young and talented already. Our passing game really could use some work, especially in the redzone. We can't keep settling for 30 yard FGs.

like the pick not sure if parcells goes with a db though really I see him building more inside out still, but I like the pick :)
