Dear good people of NFLDC,

I ask you to help rescue the fans of the Detroit Lions and the state of Michigan from the evil Matt Millen. He is using his position as Lions Team President and General Manager to hold us hostage. He must stand and face punishment for the horrible atrocities he has committed in his long tenure with the Lions organization.

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees its citizens the right to Petition for a redress of grievances.

By signing your name to this petition you are in recognition of the ineptitude and failings of Matt Millen and wish to give your condolences to the long-suffering people of the state of Michigan. Even Bears, Vikings, and Packers fans alike ought find within them some sympathy toward their bitter rivals, the beleaguered Detroit Lions.

I thank you for your support in these trying and turbulent times,

As a Bears fan, I refuse to sign this. Millen is a great man who fully deserves the job he currently holds. For as long as the team is under his reign, my Bears will be at worst the 3rd best team in the NFC North.

He made a promise to Raymell Rice saying he'd draft him, and passed on him. That ******* bastard!

oh, and we should do one for the Rams, if I was running that team, Bulger would be gone, yoda my VP, Leonard starting, SJax traded with Bulger for Flacco and Rice and 3 rings in like 5 years. the end bye

I have a better idea, why don't you have some kind of fan demonstration at the stadium. Perhaps a march...

Haven't they already done that? Pretty sure they had a game where practically everyone had a shirt that said "FIRE MILLEN!" and they chanted it a couple times. Please correct if wrong Lion fans, but I seem to remember this.

Where's the Fire Al Davis Petition?

Can't fire an owner. I hate to say it, because it sounds incredibly grim, but Bob Irsay's death was the best thing to happen to the Colts franchise since he bought the team. After that, Jim Irsay took over, hired Bill Polian, Polian drafted Peyton Manning, and we all know the rest.

Where's the Fire Al Davis Petition?

I think theres an assassinate one out there.

The Lions have too much talent and have suffered for too long for this to be happening to them. As d34ng3l021, I sign this petition.

So has anyone given a piece of their mind to him? Maybe call him while he is answering questions? Tell him he is a complete and utter failure as a GM? He should just quit for the good of millions of people (fans of the Lions and NFL (minus NFC North fans))?

Maybe if he realized he sucks he might feel a bit guilty.

The Lions have like 3 good players.

Calvin Johnson, Roy Williams, Ernie Sims (half the time), and JASON HANSON. You so missed one.

You're being generous. Roy Williams and Ernie Sims only count as half of a good player each.

As a NFC North rival you cannot sign this. Millen has helped the NFC North and entire NFL by putting bad teams on the field.

No need to feel bad, the Lions may field a decent team once Millen dies because the Fords wont fire him.

I certainly hate Matt Millen as a Lion's fan but unless he can take Ford with him, I see no improvement coming. The Lions stunk before Millen was hired, they stunk while Millen was on the job and they'll stink after Millen leaves.
Ford is easily the most incopmpetent owner in all of pro sports so nothing is likely to change with Millen being fired. Ford will proably just hire another incompetent like he has done for the last 50 years.
Until Ford dies, we are stuck being the laughing stock of the NFL.

That's what I was referencing. But then he drafted another WR, so it's all good.

Maybe if they had a real GM, he wouldn't look like such a crap owner? Granted, keeping Millen on makes him look like one, but they have spent money on players other than draft picks, which says they're willing to spend, the only problem is the guy who's making the suggestions on how to spend is an idiot. Maybe if they could get someone in there who could evaluate talent and make smart business decisions, he wouldn't be that bad as an owner.

Because deep down you have even the slightest bit of sympathy for your pal Xio and the rest of his suffering comrades.

Firing Millen would not make the Lions any good. We were horrible for the 40 years preceeding Millen as well. It's just that enough is enough with this moron. He's gotta go.

Yeah, it's time for the next moron. BTW just won the Super Bowl with the Lions in my Madden franchise...but then again I drafted a QB with the 1st overall pick and he came out 94/96 with power/accuracy.

So yeah, basically there's...hope?

Millen was a bit of a tease wasn't he. First few years I really thought he had the Lions going in the right direction. Going into 2004 they still had a promising Charles Rogers, Harrington going into his 3rd season and a great 1st round with Roy Williams and Kevin Jones. Then Bam... the suckage commenced.

I was a HUGE Barry Sanders fan during his career and Lions were my 2nd team.

I'll sign it. Although I suspect that the ownership has had it with him and this will be his last year. (But I've been wrong before.)

Ford Sr. might have to watch his back now.
