This had me thinking, Rice is a talented player and we did spend a high pick on him. But we have McGahee who we signed for 7 years 40 million to be the starter. And they are the same style back. But McGahee is a lazy bum who slacked off totally during the off-season because he knows we suck, he is starting to turn into the back he was in BUF. He has all the talent but he doesnt give a hoot since he is on a team that sucks. I admit I was wrong, I thought Ray would keep him in line and make him work hard but I guess not. So anyway do you think he would ever be the starter in maybe a couple years? I mean we may considering cutting McGahee in a few years, because he is 26 and RBs dont really last in the years 29+. I actually wouldnt mind seeing him start, I think he will be a good grinding back, but I wish we had a speed back who can come in and be a change of pace back.

McClain > Rice

There I said it.

I do agree w/ that, McClain is a monster I dont think anyone thought he would be that good.

This 3 headed running game is doing really great. I do think that Willis could be cut when he gets that huge raise in his contract though(I think its after the 2010 season). But I think that at that time, we'll have him re-structure his deal or we'll be confident enough in the McClain/Rice combo that we can let him go.

yes I have been wondering that to, McGahee doesnt seem to have the heart of a champion. And w/ us in a re-building mode I wouldnt mind us stocking up on young hungry players.

I dont think Rice can be our #1 or anyone's true #1 RB. He is gonna be a MJD type and always need that other runner to be there with him IMO.
