I hope they don't go this route, this would keep them on the same terrible path. Hopefully the whole thing gets gutted.

I was actually surprised by that. I've heard nothing but good things about Tom Lewand.

lets just throw rediculous amounts of money and a 30% stake in ford motors to bill polian and try and lure him here.

I'm not worrying about Leland. He had little say in who we signed as FA's and who we drafted or hired as a HC. He can retain control of the money side for all I care, it's who we hire who controls the draft, signing of FA's and the hiring of a new HC that worries me.
I agree that it is a strange time to fire Millen as most football executives are tied up with their current teams until after they are eliminated from the playoffs so we are going to get a interim replacement from within the organization and I just pray that Ford doesn't hire him permanently, remembering that the the #1 priority for Ford is whether he likes you or not, not performance. I hope Leland runs the team on the short term basis until we can hire the replacement.

So even though Lions fans currently are partying like drunken munchkins, it would be wise to keep in mind that the Wicked Witch of the West could end up being even worse than the one on whom the house was finally dropped.

Oh man... so true.

I suggested we give the Wings to Yzerman and give Holland a year to learn Football and we'll be good.
