Yes, There is actually a Toy Hall of fame in Rochester, NY. How many toys did you play with from this Hall of fame while growing up?
http://strongmuseum.com/NTHoF/NTHoF.html
I don't think Bicycle should be in it. That's more like a mode of transportation.
Q: What are the criteria for selecting toys for the National Toy Hall of Fame?
A: Inducted toys are selected on the basis of the following criteria:
1. Icon-status: The toy is widely recognized, respected, and remembered.
2. Longevity: The toy is more than a passing fad and has enjoyed popularity over multiple generations.
3. Discovery: The toy fosters learning, creativity, or discovery through play.
4. Innovation: The toy profoundly changed play or toy design. A toy may be inducted on the basis of this criterion without necessarily having met all of the first three.

Silly Putty!!!!!
Yes!!!!
I could play with that all day every day. To this day when I see it I play with it. When I was young I got about 8 silly putties together and it was awesome. It was bigger than my hands. Silly putty is one of the top toys ever,
Also, cardboard boxes are the ****. Especially when it is a big box. Give me a big cardboard box and a crapload of silly putty and you won't see me for months.

I had both I liked the G.I. Joes better because they were more flexible and we're easier to play with. both are good though.

Didn't make the lsy as in "I never played with them as a kid ."
As the father of two daughters, ages 10 and 6, I have made up for it though.

Yes, I was quite jealous of the "Kung Fu" grip and rotating elbows.
What made up for it though was Boba Fett was a bad-*** and Darth Vader had a light-saber.

I made some of the best forts out of cardboard boxes. What's with that game candy land? Is that every kids first board game? I went to my neices house, and she had that game too. Candy Land Dora the Explorer Edition. The view finder toy was the best. I had sooo many of those different slides from cartoons to random animal ones to famous places in the world.

How could you possibly talk trash on a cardboard box? You weren't a real kid if you didn't turn a cardboard box into something.

Rubber duckies, Army Men, Hot Wheels, Jax should all be in

Me and my brother made a game with army men or G.I. Joes. Each team would have a side of the Living room and set up their guys, and you'd have a tin foil ball you got to toss and try to knock them off chairs and stuff. If it was army men and you were successful, you got to melt their asses!

They should have a "Flash-in-the-pan" wing to have the highly popular, short-lived toys. #1 in that wing would have to be "Tamagachi" pets. It was ridiculous how many people at my school at those when I was growing up--IN HIGH SCHOOL!

In a decade or so, K'Nex is going to be added. It's way up there with TinkerToys, it just needs to continue with the longevity. And it will.

Yeah, I had the original Megatron where he converted to a gun. That was awesome. Soon they outlawed it and he turned into something lame like a tape recorder or something like that.

I'm guessing that's why it sounds familiar..
