I thought this would interesting, I am a freshman in Krop, and I have studied our crappy Varsity team and found out we have some good players on defense but our offense is horrible (Team currently 1-4, lol my JV is 2-0 I gotta a game tomorrow). Here are some interesting prospects that you or may not have known about, not as many D1 prospects as last year only two in my opinion this year.
1. DT: Brendan Taylor: 6'1 300 lbs.: Lawrence Taylor's son (no joke), this unbiased and raw info. The kid is soft... he does not play in the rain... EVER, it is too dangerous to him I guess, and I see him with casts all the time. As a player he happens to be out best player on defense... when he actually is on the field, he is a tremendous pass rusher, very good open field tackler, and very fast for a DT. Brendan gets a very good jump on the ball, and I think of him as blitzing Warren Sapp type DT or maybe a Kabeer Gbaja-Gbaja (spelling? packers pass rush specialist). His negatives are his moderate/short motor, injuries, and his run stopping ability, possibly moved to DE if some weight is lost. As a person his grades are average, and he keeps to himself he is not a bad kid.
2. Quanthony Fletcher: 6'2 240 lbs.: Runs a 4.5, and is our starting SAM backer. Quanthony is a very good overall linebacker, but is not extremely good at anything. He is a very good tackler, big hitter, good playmaker, decent pass rusher, and makes good reads on the ball. His negatives are probably his angles, although I cannot get a perfect view from where I watch so I could be wrong. I see a WILL in the college level for him, he is sort of like a Gerris Wilkinson very athletic.
A bonus from JV, I may be jumping the gun but 16 year old sophomore Michael Hudson WILL on JV,(He is less than an inch taller than me, last time I checked around five months ago I was 6' so I could have grown not sure.... but w/e he is around 6'1 only a sophomore can still grow, he runs a 4.5, and weighs 200 lbs. (will gain more weight once weight training on Varsity kicks in) he is a playmaker, very fast, average pass rush , I see him as a Tavares Gooden type linebacker, he is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. The things that concern me however are his grades, he said he had 2 Fs, is his pass rush against bigger lineman and his consistency as he sometimes disappears from games. I think he will go D1, but it only JV maybe I am going crazy. Another one is Scott Buglenafakbfsk (can't spell his last name) he is a freshman RT, and is 6'4 303 lbs... doesn't start because he has never played football before, very raw but potential could be limitless.
