Hyping up the kid already ? Let's wait a bit. His versatility intrigues me though.

He'd be faster without all that hair.

LOL.

they interviewed him and he said. If anyone ever tackles him by the dreads he's gonna cut it all off. He's too fast no one can even grab those long dreads.

The amazing thing is, he's only a freshman. =)

Might be a little early but it's nice to show him early so people will be familar with who he is down the road.

He can certainly fly. Looks taller than 5'10", maybe it is the hair propping the helmet up, or the fact that he is rail thin. Impressive lateral movement and change of direction. Definitely someone to watch.

It's early but you can't help but think of Hester when you see him play.

I hope he is smart enought to sacrifice a bit of speed to add some much needed bulk. 160 is twiggy

can he catch?

Might be just me but he definitely looks bigger than his listed size. I'm 5'10 180 and he looks bigger than me.

If he can add 20-25 lbs without losing much speed, then he'll be one to watch for sure. However, 160 is just too small. People flipped out when DeSean Jackson weighed in at 170.

Have you never heard the expression that the TV camera adds 10-15 lbs

Good call. That slipped my mind.

He's a true FR., the weight will come.

And to this point, it has really had no effect on him at all...

That said, has he gone over the middle and taken a shot yet?

I think it is too early to say that DeSean has or lacks long term durability.

people shouldn't worry about his weight. He's a true freshman (meaning he's only what, 18 or 19 at the oldest) and he is in a big time D-I football program. If he doesn't get bigger and stronger (and I mean a lot) within the next 3-4 years, there's something wrong with him.

Is he faster than Jordyzzz or Josh Freeman?

can he catch?

Absolutely. I don't think I've seen him drop a pass yet through 7 games. One of our best receivers, not just return men.

Love watching this guy play. As unexciting as Miami games have been for us recently, I really do get pumped everytime Benjamin touches the ball.

The blur from Belle Glade. Start the bandwagon.

He ties his dreads before games (Shannon probably makes him). They don't flop around.

Great hands, great speed, elusive, has vision. Just a natural playmaker.

No his weight is not an issue. He's so natural with the ball in his hands that he never takes a big hit or suffers because of his size. When he gets tackled it's usually going forward.

He's taken multiple huuuuge shots, including a friggin WWF clothesline, and got right back up.

He's small, and may get hurt, but the little batich is tough.

If you want to see Benjamin in action, look up a UM-FSU highlight video, he's in all of them. Damn he is faaaaaast. Also, if Desean Jackson's size proves to not hinder him at all, I think that can only help Benjamin, the same way that Alex Smith's failure has hurt Tebow.

Benjamin caught a TD yesterday. He returned a punt but it was called back.

It's at 1:48 in this video where he caught the TD.

Benjamin has

32 rushing yards and 1 TD.

1 pass for 17 yards.

11 catches for 174 yards and 3 TD.

12 punt returns for 170 yards.

14 kick returns for 363 yards.

In this season only as a true freshman. He is on rivals half-season freshman all-american team.

Trust me. Travis Benjamin is the truth.

That punt return doesn't count....it's not like the Hester-Duke one. The clip clearly sprung him as all 3 defenders just stopped.

A lot faster. =)

Than Jordyzzzz? Impossible. Jordyzzz runs a 0.3 forty due to his teleportation abilities.

Update on Benjamin.

He had 4 catches for 72 yards.(had a big catch for 48 yards.) Against a tough Wake Forest pass defense.

He also had 1 carry for 10 yards.

And he had 4 returns for 33 yards.

Benjamin has 871 all purpose yards and 4 TD's. In 8 games this season as a true freshman.
