View Full Version : NFL Feel good story of the year

What is it for you?

Is it the Atlanta Falcons bouncing back after the turmoil that was unprecedented before this year? The fact that they turned it around so quick with a Rookie HC/GM/LT/QB/MLB etc?

Is it the Buffalo Bills that were it not for an injury to their starting QB would likely be undefeated after being pretty sad sack for the last...I dunno...ever.

What about the Titans, dominating on the field, letting their offseason headache (Adam Jones) go, while destroying what was already a team on the edge in the lockerroom (Dallas)

How about the Arizona Cardinals, the laughing stock of the NFL (even by the Falcons standards) the paper champs finally being able to play football and live up to their potential?

Maybe for you its the Dolphins and their 'wild dolphin...what?' formation

Could it be the Washington Redskins, who constantly spend and spend and spend in Free Agency and never can seem to get it done when it matters most, finally getting out of the blocks to a great start? All this after losing Sean Taylor last season, now they've brought in yet ANOTHER Safety who is looking like a Defensive Rookie of the Year...Impressive! And who doesn't love Clinton Portis?

How about watching the Patriots fall apart at the seams?

Which one of these stories is your favorite?

Im sure for most people its the New England Patriots.

True statement.

Edit:

The buffalo bills were competitive 15 years ago. That's not 'forever' :p They just suffered what is known around my parts as: emmitt smith goes. and emmitt smith goes again. see nfl season: 1992. They're still getting beat up by emmitt smift.

The real surprise to me is the cards. Finally maybe making out of mediocrity. Everyone knew tennessee would be good. They just had to have kerry collins under center.

Yeah, it is, people just get sick of anyone who wins all the time, just like the Yankees and Boston in baseball, it's just not nearly as entertaining. It's fun to watch the big boys fall. But what makes them the big boys, is they keep bouncing back. They have a great story for next year. Heck, this season isn't even over for them yet, they're in a place where they can still make the playoffs.

Going with the Falcons. Arizona has been impressive so far but really isn't close to Atlanta for the biggest surprise. Same with Tennessee since they were a playoff team last year.

I predict they'll be in a battle for the two wildcards with Indy, Jax, and possibly Baltimore.

Aaron Rodgers. :)

Realistically, you have to go with the Falcons. What they are doing could compare to the Rays of baseball. Everyone is happy that they started great but anticipate a fall. Will that fall ever come? It didnt with the Rays..

I have to say it's the Buffalo Bills, somewhere Tim Russert is smiling.

Sean Taylor coming back from near fatal injuries to lead the league in disrupted passes and interceptions and lead the Redskins in tackles.

I'm going with Arizona. As terrible as they have been in the past, this may be the year they make a run.

Washington. I liked the hire of Jim Zorn the day it was made and he was heavily scrutinized by Washington fans and media and now he is showing that he knows what the hell he's doing.

Atlanta.
1. Lost there franchise qb, Vick
2. Lost there head coach in the middle of last season.
3. Parcells turns them down in the last second.

Can't say that about a lot of teams.

I voted for the Cardinals but after thinking about it a little, I nominate the Rams. I don't think they'll really sustain anything, but its nice to see Haslett's impact. I've always liked Jim Haslett.

Seattle wasnt on there, that is what I would have voted. I said Buffalo.

At this point of the season I don't see them as worthy of a choice, but if they play like this from here out, the end of the season poll will no doubt have them listed near the top.

With everything that happened in Atl they were the only logical pick for me.

I really liked the Falcons draft and so I was looking for them to continue the NFC South champ trend. Miami is really surprising since I expected them to suck major donkey balls this season. And they've been competitive and resilient.

Whats feel good about the Seahawks?

I'm going with Atlanta...

The team has been going downhill since the Superbowl appearance in what.. late 90's? (99 IIRC)...

Michael Vick teasing them with potential... Never living up to it. Then the flipping off the fans, and the Dog-fighting...

Having a few players with Attitude problems...

Now they have a fresh coach, slew of players and are playing quality football. Add a few more pieces and I think they'll be an excellent team.

I think they have that team going in the right direction and I'd like to see what happens if they continue like this

With him being a Niner fan, I'm assuming that he's happy that they are (seemingly) no longer in power in the division.

Has to be Atlanta, they lose the "Superstar" have a down year, get a new coach, a new QB, and they look like an actual team.

Good stuff.

Uh, it isn't yet. It could be, it will be the sweetest thing if we can get the Patriots back for ruining our franchise. Then we could go back home and beat the Cards and take over the division. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYYYYYYYYAWWWWWWW!

They were about as close you can be to absolute futility last year, and have beat the two teams that were in the AFC Championship game last year. That's a pretty nice story.

For me it's easily Atlanta though. After the Vick thing, then Petrino being a little two bit chicken **** weasel, they've found their guys to replace both of them, and they're playing incredible looking at how bad they were last year. It's definitely good to be a Falcons fan.

Atlanta because they definitely deserved something good to happen to their team after the whole Vick thing. Glad to see them make a turn for the better behind a classy QB. Plus it feels good knowing that your right about who was the best QB out of the class.
