Who are the possible candidates? Who is your candidate, throw a pitch for why he should be GM. Would he bring his own coaches? such as pioli bringing McDaniels? etc.....Lets not be unrealistic. I dont think Cowher is coming here. Is pioli a legitimate option? Discuss..

I second this. Millen has shown excellent character analysis, an eye for talent, and an uncanny ability to choose great WR's. hes a good bet for any team

if you need WR's and WR's. I'd pick this man.

He's a cant miss on first round prospects.

Lions have the only gm opening at the moment so I'd imagine them. As long as the new GM really works with the head coach on selecting prospects that really fit the scheme and are thus less likely to bust. Those Lines need serious help.

Floyd Reese isn't terrible. As long as you're not drafting top 10. He's more miss than hit on WR's and CB's but otherwise I'd say he's pretty good.

The good news about being the Lion GM is your given 3x longer than normal to turn things around.

Sorry, I think the Packers have copyrighted that. At least MM, TT, and MM make it seem so...

Marcus McNeil or Mark McGwire or Mark May or Mad Max.

I'd hate to see him go but. Steelers Omar Kahn would be an Excellent GM.

He's currently the Steelers Business and Administration Coordinator..

He works directly with GM Kevin Colbert and HC Mike Tomlin for the draft and is largely a partner with the team in contracts.

The guy has been in every facet of a winning organization.

This doesnt really have to do with a GM search, but I am so happy the Falcons hired Tom Dmitroff.

If you are looking for a GM, I would look at the successful drafting organization and pick from them. They know whatsup.

Buddy Nix or Randy Mueller of San Diego wouldn't be bad choices either.

Interestingly enough I'd expect Reggie McKenzie to be one of the leading candidates. He was in the running for Houston a couple years back and was close to getting the Atlanta job last year. Detroit would love to steal him from us too. That way they don't have to call our former players anymore.

Chris Polian will be an excellent GM, but the Colts already got dibs after Bill Polian leaves.

I hope you're right about the excellent GM part, but you're definitely right about the Colts part, Chris Polian was offered the Dolphins GM job a couple years back and decided to stay with the Colts.

I would say on the list of all time worst GM's Casserly is probably 4th or 5th.

So far the Dolphins, 49ers, and Falcons have all offered him their GM job. He's turned them all down. Jim Irsay has gone on record saying he is the heir apparent to his dad as Colts president.

If I was the Ford Family, I'd ask the commish for help. I remember when the Mara family decided to have a GM, but they didn't know who to hire, so they asked Rozell I think was the commish at the time. He suggested a guy named George Young, who then hired a man named Bill Parcells. The rest was history. So perhaps that is the action or move that may help this franchise.

Unfortunately, we are talking about the guy WCF will hire. I think he will continue with another useless GM named Mayhew who learned his craft under Millen as his assistant. Ford's main criteria for hiring a guy is whether he likes him or not and he knows and likes Mayhew. Resumes showing real talent for the job mean nothing to WCF.
