Imagine living in Australia and going outside and seeing this... If I saw that I would buy a flame thrower and start going to town on this thing! Sad part is I have been to Cairns, Australia when I was in middle school. Thank god I never saw this or I would be been scarred emotionallly!

Here is another story of how people don't want pythons and led them go in the Everglades in Florida, and they throw up and try to fight alligators! lol. This picture shows a pyton ingesting an alligator, and the alligator must have been fighting because it tore the python from the inside.

Not at all. They don't have poison. They essentially paralyze their prey and then have an all you can eat buffet. I've known some guys who have woke up in the morning to see a camel spider chewing a chunk out of their leg.

Spiders are my ultimate fear. I turn girly around them. If I saw that first spider eating the bird or a camel spider, or any spider even close to that size you best believe I'd set the world record for fastest mile running away from those things.

I hate big spiders. I am okay with small sized ones, but anything bigger than that, I am terrified of its every movement. Its nice to know you can brutally outpower the spider, but still.

I'm not. They're too well hidden. Not to mention the fact that the smaller ones are usually more poisonous.

I feel more powerful in front of the smaller ones.

I was biking the other day and these was this gigantic spider on the bike path. Its body was about the size of a fist. and it was yellow and black. I looked down cause I was about to run something over when I saw it. Nearly fell off after my cognitive process figured out what it was.

I've only seen a spider out here that big once before. It was sitting on my back door so I walked around the house to open the door from outside to lure the spider out, then I promptly beat the **** out of it with a shoe.

I've seen my fair share of spiders/snakes so I guess I'm slightly acclimatised to them. I certainly would rather avoid them, but if they are in your house or in your back yard where they can hurt your pets then you have to do something.

I've had arachnophobia since I was a kid, still become girl around a lot of spiders. I've never seen anything as big as a camel spider or that bird eater so i don't know how i'd react, although I actually doing mind tarantulas because they're furry and so big that I don't even register them as spiders. I tend to freeze up and arm myself whenever I spot a spider and keep constant track of it so in case it nears me I'll be ready to kill it and that's after years of training myself I used to just get pretty much paralyzed with fear for a few minutes if a saw a spider with a diameter of an inch or bigger (including the legs)

Exactly why Tarantulas are like the only spiders that don't creep me out.

If I ever saw one of those I couldn't see myself coming within 2 feet of it, I'd probably grab something much longer than a shoe with which to kill it.

note to self: amass large gun collection prior to ever moving down under.

Just the idea of one of those ever being in my yard terrifies me. Especially because I love the night time and growing up our yard had these wooded areas around because my neighbors were loaded on both sides and I'd go out walking through the neighborhood sticking to the woods, I don't think I'd be able to walk out of my house to have a cigarette without a at least a handgun with a flashlight attached to it if I thought one of those things might be out there.

Just out of curiosity, I Googled "Spider bite", just to see what it would look like... bad idea. The very first result was horrifying.

If you live in a highly metropolitan area you will be fine. I've been living in the heart of Sydney for a while now and I don't think I've even seen a fly the last 3 months. It's only when you go out a little further you occasionally encounter the bad guys like red back spiders, huge ass huntsman and the occasional snake.

No offense to sydney, can't wait to visit that city and I've heard good things and liked the natives I've met in my life, but if I moved to australia it'd be to some ranch when I retire to have just gorgeous landscape around me every day, if I don't end up in New Mexico that is.

Holy **** that is scary. I'd die if I saw that. I'm terrified of spiders. And roaches. When I was in the Dominican Republic on a school trip, our group lived in people's houses with them. And at night, the roaches came out. First time I saw them, I was PARALYZED with fear.

Perfer Sante Fe and Taos cause they're further north and more in the mountains. Plus Taos is my favorite Ski resort in this country.

Caddy

do you surf?

Occasionally. Not so much now that I live in the city but I did a bit when I live up the coast. Most of the sharks that are around the coast are pretty timid and you won't usually see them, but if you do it is incredibly scary. Particularly because Australian waters house pretty much all of the man-eaters ie Tiger, Great White, Bull etc.
