Predictions boys . . . ?
I say . . .
Washington 31, Detroit 17
Calvin will have a big game, if only because they throw it to him every other play.

Detroit will be a serious team to face until they win at least one game. Washington normally would be flat as a pancake when they play us on Sunday. They will already have marked down this game as a win and be looking forward to their match next week against Pittsburgh. They would have zero emotion when they play us and that always sets up the possibility for an upset. Unfortunately they are coming off a loss, if they had played a good team last week, I'd have bet money that Detroit would cover with a good possibility that they win the game.
Coming off a loss, the odds don't favour us quite as much so I expect we lose 35-10.
Washington - 45
Detroit - 13

35-21 'Skins, we can't stop the run and they run the ball 'nuf said. And yes, we'll keep our streak alive of going down 21-0 in the first quarter.

According to the radio, Avril just made a big play on Portis. Though since I can't watch it on TV, I am not convinced it really happened, haha.

What game is everyone watching? Since I couldn't watch the game anyway, I'm cheering for the Bucs against the Cowboys.

i'd say we're weathering the storm right now. they came out swinging, but simms and avril helped keep them out of the endzone. then avril stripped the ball and calvin caught a nice deep pass to set up a rudi td. lions must keep up this effort. campbell and the washington offense looks competent at times but out of sync.

Might we actually have a good DE in Cliff "I have a good editor, not a good education" Avril?

If you aren't watching the Cowboys game... Roy signaled for the 1st down and a bunch of Bucs got in his face. So he hasn't changed.

I'm guessing 25-17 Redskins. Portis and Moss have big games.
I thought the Redskins were really going to pound us.

We are 1-14 in our last 15 regular season games.
At least we have no losses in playoff games though in that time span.

I though we were going to "pound the rock" but we forgot to again I guess.
Redskins beat us pretty badly. Owned time of possession, ran at will, pass at will, good D. Score was closer than the game was. Phantom face mask on Jan Jansen helped in the first half plus the turnover. We were pounded. Plus they were missing some starters on D and Chris Sameuls.

Baby steps. It's going to take a lot to turn this franchise around. Let's look at how the Lions have progressed this season:
1. We managed to fire Matt Millen who ruined the franchise with terrible draft picks, signings and trades for the past seven years.
2. Dan Orlovsky has finally learned the dimensions of the field, and will no longer be stepping out of the end zone.
3. We scored their first opening-quarter points of the season - in Week 8! Hey, it's better than no first-quarter points at all!
