I think you are in trouble tbh there scotty. Sounds like you overwrote your old library with a brand new one.

C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music

All the songs you have downloaded should still be there (or your 'puters equivalent). I strongly suggest makeing a back up CD of all your music, downloaded from iTunes legally or pirated.

Oddly enough, this exact thing happened to me earlier today.

The above post ought to remedy the problem though.

yea, i need to back them up.

i keep getting blank iTunes when i open up "previous libraries". If i plug in my ipod, will it put all my songs back on the computer?

I believe it would actually put the new blank library on your ipod, rather than the other way round, but there are programs you can use to get songs off your ipod to your PC. I used Sharepod.

The songs are still in your 'puter. I'm not sure if it will jump back to the correct library or not. It depends on your "update iPod automatically upon detection" settings

I guess you could cut and paste them to the new library.

Start with "The Scarlet Knights Fight song" (http://www.fightmusic.com/mp3/bigeast/Rutgers__Rutgers_Fight_Song.mp3), I know you have it.

you could always click:
FILE -
ADD FILE TO LIBRARY -
Select the actual file

Have fun though if you have even close to as many songs as I do. You should be done by X-mas.

Or just select all of them (Shift + Click) and drag them back into ITunes.

luckily, it's not many. It's only around maybe 1,000. But i don't even have those options under file. dammit. I'm just playing them and they end up in my "music" section under iTunes. We'll see what happens. ugh

reinstall iTunes and it'll pull all the music from your C drive or where ever you have it.
