On this day, November 5th, in 1605, Guy Fawkes and several Catholic terrorists tried to blow up parliament thus killing Kin James I.
So, what does this entail for our UK users, aside from like fireworks and drinking?
Yatta!

Erm...... nothing really.
There's no official ceremony or anthing really. Everywhere just has big fireworks displays and bonfires. Excuse for a party tbh, I think it was probably a bigger deal in the past.

The only advantage to the day other than the drinking and firworks, is the occasional fatality to someone who should be taken out of gene pool for standing in the way of a firework when its going off.

nothing really.
That's what I figured but I was curious because when I read about it online it sounds like a bigger deal.

I don't know how this day relates to a horrible movie with some of the worst, most overrated dialogue since the Matrix (no coincidence).

Figures. Though, in America, we celebrate holidays that have nothing to do with our country just because we want excuses to drink and not seem like complete alcoholics (i.e. Cinco de Mayo & St Patrick's Day).

Well in Cincy I know we celebrate St. Patties and Oktoberfest because there is/was a very significant German and Irish population here. I think our Oktoberfest is the largest celebration of said holiday outside Germany.

I wish we recognized such a great day here :( . We only celebrate the other Pulaski Day in October, which involves me riding around in a parade if I so feel.
At least our Dyngus Day kicks ass.
