Interesting comments from Marshall. Porter has always been able to back up his talk and I think Marshall is messing with the wrong person in Porter. Should be interesting on how Porter responds.

Marshall tries to play the bigger man role in this and clearly establishes himself as the lesser.

I honestly think Porter would break Marshall in half. The only reciever that I think has repsect in the trash talk department to Porter is Ocho himself.

I will say that offensive pass interference call on Marshall was utter BS. I still can't believe they called that.
That said, Porter sure does like to talk. Best way to make the trash talkers stop is the scoreboard, or the illegal way.

i have no choice but to go with brandon... i'd be a hypocrite if i didnt

btw marshall is a strong kid, if he can take out a de with the thrust of a shoulder, he can certainly hold his own on a guy he has a 4 inch arm reach advantage on. then again, porter does have about 15 pounds on marshall, but i guess that depends on if porter is all water.

i just think its funny that porter has called out several recievers on being weak and soft though. kellen winslow isn't soft, and marshall certainly isnt afraid of contact.

Poll: Should peezy "shut the **** up?"

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3684746
Edit: I'll just throw in my ten cents while I'm at it. This is America. You can say what ever you want. I stress that. Joey can say whatever he wants, and there's nothing wrong with him speaking to the press. I'm not against that. Joey is probably right. Matt should not be Playing. But Porter needs to shut his mouth, and stay out of other people's buisness, when the subject is other people. This is a professional league, and his job is to leave it all on the field. If you have anger, take it out there. If you have a "beef", take it out there. Don't continue with this venting through the press. Stay out of other people's buisness, and worry about yourself, Mr. Porter. This is one of the first things you learn, among sharing toys and not telling on your little brother. It's flat out disrespectful IMO, and I think he should just let the guy be, Jones is going to take the heat for his problems one way or another.

Porter says Jones should not be allowed to play because of drug charge

First, Joey Porter picked on Brandon Marshall. Now, the Dolphins linebacker is going after Matt Jones.

On a conference call with reporters Wednesday, Porter said he had no idea how the Jaguars receiver could still be playing despite having a felony cocaine charge against him earlier this year.

Porter, who called Marshall "soft" and a pouter after Miami's win in Denver last weekend, made his comments after being asked about the NFL's crackdown on big hits that are deemed illegal and dangerous. Early in the season, commissioner Roger Goodell sent a warning letter to teams telling them, among other things, that first-time offenders would be subject to fines.

"If I knew the answers, I'd still have 20 more thousand dollars," said Porter, who was fined $20,000 last month for criticizing referee Ed Hochuli after a loss to Houston. "But I'm still trying to figure out how a guy gets caught with cocaine in his car and still plays the game and nothing happens.

He got caught with cocaine and Matt Jones is still playing football. How does he get away with that? And then you fine people $20,000 for making comments to the media about the refs. The guy got caught with cocaine.

--Joey Porter

"He got caught with cocaine and Matt Jones is still playing football. How does he get away with that? And then you fine people $20,000 for making comments to the media about the refs. The guy got caught with cocaine."

In July, Jones was charged with cocaine possession when a police officer in Fayetteville, Ark., saw him inside a parked car allegedly cutting up cocaine with a credit card.

Last month, Jones agreed to enter into a drug treatment program that could erase the felony charge against him.

The NFL suspended Jones for three games, but he appealed the suspension and is awaiting a final decision.

Asked on Wednesday -- before Porter made his comments -- if he would like to get the looming suspension over with, Jones said: "You definitely want to, but it's not my choice. I'm going to play as long as I can and whenever, whatever, you go through it."

Porter, meanwhile, also responded to the comments Marshall made about him Monday in response to Porter's initial comments the day before. Marshall called Porter soft and said he had "popcorn muscles."

Porter said he didn't know what "popcorn muscles" are.

"Nope. I know Orville Redenbacher. I know popcorn," he said. "But I'm not worried about that. That game is over. I'm looking at Seattle. For him to still be on that, I did get in his head, obviously. He's wasting time. They have a game tomorrow. I'm worried about me. I left Denver three days ago."

Denver plays at Cleveland on Thursday, while the Dolphins play the Seahawks on Sunday. Miami doesn't play Jacksonville this season.

He has a loud mouth and talks too much but it is his right to say what he wants. He has been doing it for several years now. Nothing to worry about. Doesn't mean anything.

You notice last year, you didn't hear one thing from Joey Porter. Now he is doing good and he starts his jaw again.

I strongly dislike Joey Porter, and I think in most cases he should shut his mouth and walk away from the press.

But I 100% support everything he said here, and I support the fact that he did open his mouth.

This is a serious problem and it needs to be addressed. I don't know what the commissioner has planned behind closed doors, but whatever he does needs to be done quickly.

There is a long list of players who have done things that are far less serious than what Matt Jones did and were punished almost immediately. There are consequences to Matt Jones actions that involve people other than himself and he should be punished as such.

Hopefully there is a good explanation for why Matt Jones punishment was delayed.

Getting caught with cocaine numerous times is clearly a great role model. Levi instigated some of the fight too, he just messed with the wrong person when Joey had his guys. If you watch the video, you dont see Porter throw a punch, just standing there watching his friends fight him.

I've been caught with cocaine, and I didn't go to jail. My punishment was probation, community services, and fines.

First time drug possession cases very rarely include jail time. So many people get arrested every day for having drugs that if we imprisoned all of them, our prisons would be more overcrowded than they already are.

^ True. Kevin Faulk got a one game boot for some blunts and Jones is still heading for a 3 gamer for the yay. Not sure how anyone can defend Porter and make it seem like he's some wholesome, positive, face of all that's good in the NFL. The guy is a complete piece of crap. Sadly, he's too self-righteous to even see the glass house.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville receiver Matt Jones snapped back at Joey Porter on Thursday, a day after the outspoken Miami Dolphins linebacker questioned how Jones could still be playing despite having a felony cocaine charge against him earlier this year.

I just covered this above. Why should he be worried about jail time? Going to jail for a first time drug offense is rare. It damn near never happens to someone who can afford a good lawyer.
