On the most updated mock on Walters Football Site, he has the Packers with an A-MAZING draft, best one I've seen. Waay to good to be true though. Heres the link:

http://walterfootball.com/draft2007.php (Rounds 2-4 on bottom)

These are, in my opinion, the two best four-round draft scenarios for the Pack:

IF Lynch in there:
1) Marshawn Lynch RB Cal
2) Aaron Rouse SS Va. Tech
3) Josh Wilson CB Maryland
4) Steve Smith WR USC

IF Lynch isn't there:
1) Greg Olsen TE Miami (Fla.)
2) Tony Hunt RB Penn State
3) Brian Leonard FB Rutgers
4) Jonathan Wade CB Tennessee

This is a big one I just got finished working on. There are a lot of trades, which I explain at the bottom. The capital letters in front of the picks indicate which trade it coresponds with. All of the trades add up within a point on the trade value chart. That doesn't guarantee both teams would make these trades though. I do have lengthy explanations for each player, but I thought I'd save space.

Draft

*(A)1 - Michael Griffin - S - Texas
*(B)2a - Brian Leonard - RB - Rutgers
*(D)2b - Zach Miller - TE - Arizona St.
*(C)2c - Jason Hill - WR - Washington St.
*(E)3a - Antonio Pittman - RB - Ohio St.
*(C)3b - Trent Edwards - QB - Stanford
*(F)4a - Jonathan Wade - CB - Tennessee
*(A)4b - James Marten - OT - Boston College
*(F)5a - Keith Jackson Jr. - DT - Arkansas
*(G)5b - Dallas Sartz- SSLB - Southern Cal.
*(A)6 - Matt Trannon - WR - Michigan St.
*(C)7 - Justin Hickman - DE - UCLA

Trades

*(A)= Packers trade their 1st (16) and 5th (144) round picks to the New Orleans Saints for their 1st (27), 2nd (59), and 4th (123) round picks. The Saints move up to take Reggie Nelson would be probably be gone by the time they pick.

*(B) = Packers trade Aaron Rodgers to the Houston Texans for their 2nd (40) round pick. Texans miss out on Quinn in the 1st and Mike Sherman persuades the front office that Rodgers would definitely be worth the pick.

*(C) = Packers trade their 2nd (47) round pick to the San Diego Chargers for their 2nd (62), 3rd (94), and 7th (222) round picks. Chargers move up to take one of the top WRs that fall.

*(D) = Packers trade their 2nd (59) round pick to the New England Patriots for their 2nd (60) and 6th (188) round picks. Classic TT trade back.

*(E) = Packers trade their 3rd (79) and 7th (208) round picks to the New York Giants for their 3rd (84) and 5th (148th) round picks.

*(F) = Packers trade their 4th (112) and 6th (176) round picks to the Denver Broncos for their 4th (117) and 5th (149) round picks.

*(G) = Packers trade their 5th (148th) and 7th (217th) round picks to the Miami Dolphins for their 5th (137th) round pick.

With our lack of success in FA or effort, I think the draft should go something like this.

Trade down to the mid-to-late twenties for an extra second rounder.

First Round Selection: Paul Posluszny, OLB, Penn State.

Second Round Selection: Marcus McCauley, DB, Fresno State.

Second Round Selection 2: Craig "Buster" Davis, WR, LSU.

Third Round Selection: Brian Leonard, RB/FB/Weapon, Rutgers.

Fourth Round Selection: Martrez Miller, TE, Georgia.

Fifth Round Selection: Travarous Bain, CB, Hampton.

Sixth Round Selection: Kenneth Darby, RB, Alabama.

Seventh Round Selection: Taurean Charles, LB/DE, Bethune-Cookman.

If our draft ended up like that I think I would cry tears of joy. Pos is a terrific LB, McCauley would be a good #3 corner, Davis is a solid wideout, Leonard is a sensational FB, and everyone else fills needs :)

i hate to say it but TT will probably end up drafting some1 like meachem, levi brown, or timmons because he believes in taking the best available player

neko4
03-11-2007, 02:53 PM
He wont take Levi thats an easy no pick. Meachem and Timmons I could see though. And why wouldnt Olsen or Lynch be the best players at the time? I liked the draft above but doubt Leonard will fall to the 3rd.

Leonard's too valuable of a player to fall that far

Just to mix it up a bit (first draft I've ever made with this #16 pick):

Round 1: Darrelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh
Round 2: Antonio Pittman, RB, Ohio State
Round 3: John Wendling, S, Wyoming
Round 4: Jacoby Jones, WR, Lane
Round 5: Allen Barbre, OT/OG, Missouri Southern St.
Round 6: Cory Anderson, FB, Tennessee
Round 7(A): Ryne Robinson, WR/KR/PR, Miami (OH)
Round 7(B): Isaiah Stanback, QB, Washington
Round 7(C): Dan Santucci, OG, Notre Dame

One problem with this mock is no TE. But oh well. I just don't know where we would draft one. I think someone will snatch Patrick before our pick in the 3rd.

I think Pittman is the perfect fit for our scheme IMO The guy can cut back like no other.

One Back I really just dislike and hope we don't bother with is Tony Hunt, i just hate his lack of explosion, and I think he's quite a bit overrated. He is a great receiver which is very helpful for our scheme, but I really just don't see him doing much in this league at all for some reason.

Cornerback is a need for Green Bay but not a need that needs to be addressed on day one. WR, RB, and either S or TE need to be the selections on Day 1 and a nickel corner can brought in on Day 2 but selections where the Packers have a CB in round 2 is nuts

First Round Selection: Leon Hall, CB, Michigan.

[ This is a slam dunk for Green Bay. We get the best corner in the draft and somebody with the ability to flourish in the nickel. ]

Second Round Selection: Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina.

[ WR that can come in and be productive in the slot, while learning to sharpen his game. ]

Third Round Selection: Antonio Pittman, RB, Ohio State.

[ Good running back that can do well in the ZBS. Homerun threat. ]

Fourth Round Selection: Paul Soilai, DT, Utah.

[ Could possibly be our Grady Jackson. He takes on mutiple blockers and will free up space. ]

Fifth Round Selection: Allen Barbe, OT/OG, Missouri Southern St.

[ A great ZBS lineman that is tough and physical. ]

Sixth Round Selection: Matt Herian, TE, Nebreska.

[ Good tightend with the tools to become a steal. Has great hands. ]

Seventh Round Selection: Taurean Charles, LB/DE, Bethune-Cookman.

[ Just love this guy, ever since he was at Florida. I think he can be a steal. ]

Seventh Round Selection II: David Ball, WR, New Hampshire.

[ His route running and hands may never make up for his lack of speed, but he could develop. ]

Seventh Round Comp: Germaine Race, RB, Pittsburgh State.

[ I believe he could become our Mike Anderson in the ZBS. ]

guys that SI Filmroom site that Scott posted is great, they have about 2-3 minutes of clips with commeitary on each player.

Packers Must draft Jordan Kent, wow he is raw but his upside is amazing! 6-5 210, played basketball (his dad is also the coach at Oregon) and is i believe the fast 100 runner in the Pac-10 or one of the elite. If he is there in the late 3rd or 2nd day he could be a steal if he keeps developing

other guys that stood out to me:
Mike Walker UCF
Laurent Robinson Illn. St
James Jones San Jose St.

then Craig Davis has moved up my board as well Drae Allison drops some because he has problems catching on and learning plays
