Supposedly we're talking to Ex-Rams punter Matt Turk.

If he signs, It'll be Tomlin/Colberts only mistake thus far.

Great, then that only puts the need to draft an elite Punter till.. Next year.

Why would it be bonehead?

Isn't it fairly common to have some training camp competition when you've got a rookie punter? The steelers could draft a punter this year and have Turk to be there in training camp to push him and be insurance if the punter they draft isn't quite ready.

Why sign Turk, only to bring him in as competition, with Barr and Sepulveda. Barr would be better than Turk.

Maybe they don't want to draft a punter. They'll go with this guy and Barr in camp.

a net gain of +3 yards is not worth the likely veteran signing minimum he'll get. Bringing in a young punter(Via draft or UDFA) and Barr should really be the only options. As Turk is going to cost a Veteran Minimum and it'll be likely he'll cost almost as much as Gardocki. Whats the point in cutting Gardocki for +3 yards and an extra $15k.
