Finally. How the hell did it last 14 seasons

EDIT: Damn, didn't mean to make this a thread. Don't even know how I accidentally did that, but whatever merge with TV thread please.

It's been on the chop block forever, FOX has just kept it due to contractual obligations.

As an SNL loyalist all my life, I must say even though you weren't a worthy opponent, **** YOU MAD TV, you slapstick piece of ****

And for Comedy Central, **** YOU stop wasting your afternoon programming on this horseshit, for at least half of what's been actual humor for non retards over the last thirty years has been courtesy of the Lorne himself

****** rant but wtf it's about time

How could anyone still be loyal to SNL. SNL has the worst sense of comedy over the last decade. SNL cant close a skit if they tried. They get something going...its getting funny...and then they can't end it. The last skit on SNL I laughed at was Horatio Sans playing Aaron Neville. They dont even have him anymore.

There have at least been more Mad TV skits in recent memory thathave been good. Kenny Rogers Jackass!!! Persian Towtruck guy. That Ipod/Iraq skit was good. Lowered Expectations was always a decent skit. Bobby Lee is also insanely hilarious, and I always get a laugh out of his Pongo skit.. Their political imitations werent very good, but SNL hasnt been much better.

Both SNL and MadTV suck... it's amazing though how bad SNL has gotten though in the past 5+ years.

It all depends what people find humorous and even though people believe the show is on a downturn many members of the new cast have been brilliant from Andy Samberg to Kristen Wiig to Bill Hader.

SNL will be back and I'm surprised it's not already in everyone's minds

I remember watching the first episode of Mad TV.. Don't think I watched it much after that. They had some solid characters though. Not that I liked them, but Stuart, Mrs. Swan, The UPS Guy and the fella that was always strung out on Coffee.. or cocaine.. or something.. were all at least memorable and were good for a chuckle or two.

I always thought this was part of the problem with Mad TV, they had decent ideas but they never knew when to end a sketch. It would be funny at first and then about 1-2 minutes in it just started getting stupid.

Yeah.

The legacy of writing was always at SNL not MadTV.

Besides, I'll be the first to say, i think SNL has gotten better in the past two than it has been over the last 7 years.

SNL has been pretty funny lately but I think a lot of that had to do with the election. I have a feeling it will drop off now since the guy who does Obama isn't nearly as funny as the ones who did palin/biden/mccain.

This was not a political post btw.

Eh, wasn't Tina Fey getting tired of doing her and 30 rock at the same time? I thought I read that somewhere.

MadTv was garbage.

SNL went through a rough patch for a while, when transitioning through casting changes again but, they've settled in. SNL has been great lately. Hader, Samberg, and Forte are hilarious.

I must admit, I've got quite a thing for Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. It's really strange. Palin's hotter than Fey, but for some reason Fey as Palin is sexy x1000000.

The link doesnt work but, the best one is when he punches Jon Bon Jovie (Jovie Punch!) and he comes back up and plays the guitar. Full Recovery! hahaha. The Foo Fighters one is great also.
