Does he make the HoF, he has a ring, played on one of the most dominent defences of this decade. Personally I see him getting in eventually but not first ballot. Going to miss some of his very illegal hits.

Has no bussiness being in the Hall of Fame.

not everyone in the hall deserves to be there, he will likely get in one year because they have to put in some players who dont deserve it

I'll miss Lynchy...he was my favorite defensive player in my earlier years...well second to Mike Mckenzie when he called Green Bay home and Baltimore had no team...

He's probably going to get some votes in weaker years, but he's probably going to be one of those guys who sits just outside the conversation of serious HOF contenders.

A Perfect Score

Without a doubt my single favourite football player ever. I like him even more then Ray Lewis and Mike Alstott. A great great player and an even better guy who does alot of stuff for the community, etc. I always loved wathcing him play...I dont think he will make the Hall, but I would certainly love to see him in there.

Agreed on not putting Mr. Helmet to Helmet in the Hall.

The mid to late 90's to early 2000's wasnt really a great era for safeties, Lynch, Harrison and Dawkins lead the pack and are all borderline HOF candidates, Harrison would probably fair better without the HGH controversy. Ed Reed who came a little later is the bridge to the great young safeties in the leauge like Landry, Sean Taylor (RIP). At the moment I only really see Reed being a legit HOF candidate with a few more solid years.

Ugh....

Until Donnie Shell gets in Lynch has absolutely no freakin' business getting in..

Shell won four Super Bowls, and retired as the NFL strong safety career leader in interceptions with 51. He started eleven straight years for the Steelers and was selected to the Steelers All-Time Team, the College Football Hall of Fame, and to the NFL Silver Anniversary Super Bowl Team.

Shell was a five time Pro Bowler between 1978 and 1982, a 5 time All-Pro selection, and was the Steelers team MVP in 1980. He had been in the top fifteen in balloting for the Pro Football Hall of Fame once before, in 2002 but with no success.

The Hall definitely is not a big fan of Safeties.

Really? Tell me why He's more deserving.

If there was another 4 time superbowl winning safety that had the all-time INT's for their position and a 5 time all pro?

I mean, I've been really holding back on incorporating Steelers..

But seriously, explain to me how Donnie Shell isn't relevant and why Lynch is more deserving.

There are a number of safeties who have yet to get into the Hall, unfortunately. More deserving candidates than Lynch.

The voters aren't fans of the position, it seems.

Only 2 DB's have gotten in that played at all in the 90's..

Darrell Green, CB, 1983-2002
Ronnie Lott, S, 1981-1994..

Only 2 DB's that will be going in anytime soon are Deion Sanders and Rod Woodson.

The HOF doesn't like defensive players, and they like safeties even less.

Steve Atwater should get in Aenaes Williams should get in Reed, Sanders and Polamulu are putting up great resumes. But Lynch was the fourth best player on those Buccaneers teams. He also lived off reputation playing for the Broncos.
