4 San Francisco 49ers- Michael Oher OT
Love it. 34 sacks and the desire by coach Singletary to establish a power run game goes to show we need to improve our line.

11 New Orleans Saints-Aaron Curry OLB
Great pick, although if NO were drafting that high, they would trade down to add picks and the depth they need.

36 San Francisco 49ers- Mark Sanchez QB
I'd actually be Ok with taking Sanchez as a 2nd rounder, albeit he has some growing up to do IMO. Alas, if Sanchez is smart, he'll wait a year and land himself in the 1st round, possibly the top 10.

Nice Pick, hope he is available.

I can't imagine Maclin falling that far. He wouldn't get past the Colts, I'm sure.

Overall, I like the Colts draft. GREAT 1st round pick for them with getting DT Sen'Derrick Marks.

For the 2nd though, I think CB and OLB are bigger needs so guys like DJ Moore and Sean Weatherspoon come to mind. I like the fact that Derrick Williams is a great return man though which is what we really need along with a gamebreaker at WR.

Decent Falcons picks.

Everette Brown is ok, but not over Michael Johnson.... EVER. I would also rather have Heyward-Bey than Brown, but the 2nd round is nice.

Geo
11-16-2008, 10:33 AM
I'm not so sure I wouldn't rather have Brown over Johnson. Both guys want to rush the passer than play the run, but I have less concerns about Brown's motor.

Brown will benefit with additional/pro coaching in his pass rushing, he needs to expand and refine it.

Ew, give us Barnes or Macho instead of Bruce Johnson.

I love Stafford to the Vikings, but I am not a big fan of Boone in the second, I'd rather have Mickens there. IMO OT and CB are equal needs, but I think Mickens is a better player.

I can't see the Bengals not taking a defensive player with one of their first two picks

Andre Smith in round 1 and Brankdon Spikes in round 2 would be better

first 2 Giants picks are AMAZING! I like the last pick as well, but it doesn't make sense to draft 2 DT's. Perhaps if that was an OL, RB, or perhaps even DB it'd be better. 2 DT's is weird, especially in the same round.

Good positions for the Steelers, but Id definately rather see them get Harris in the 2nd round.

Not so big of fan of the Bears draft.

You hit our #1 need with a pass rusher in the first, but I'm not so sure Selvie is going to be a 43 end at the next level. I'd rather have Duke there.

Also, no thanks on the WR outside of the first. We have a lot of #2 and #3 WR types including Earl Bennett who hasn't played yet this year. I want to see what we have in him and also who of Booker, Lloyd and Davis will be around for next year as well. Find and give us someone who could at least be a 3rd down pass rush specialist there since its unlikely we find a full time starter at DE that late int he 2nd.

I gave the giants a guard to give them depth. I thought about a S or a TE but I dont think any are worthy to get picked at the end of the 2nd round

Like the Packers draft. Monroe would be a very nice addition. I can't see Stafford falling that far though.

Pannel Egboh would be a reach in the second round. I really don't think DE is that big of a need considering how well our backups have been playing while KVB has been out. CB is going to be a much bigger need. TE, O-Line depth, and MLB are probably bigger needs than DE. DT will definitely be a bigger need if Haynesworth leaves but I don't see that happening.

I don't think there's a huge difference between Smith and Macho Harris so I'd prefer to take him in the second and grab Brandon Spikes (who could be a top-15 pick in my opinion a la Jerod Mayo) in the first.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over taking Moore and Coffman. I love the idea of having both in our secondary.

great giant picks. the first 2 picks will fit in great with our system. and, even though i dont know a ton about green, it never hurts to add depth to the trenches.

Which is why I'm not as big of a fan of the Jerry pick. He's a very good DT and great value at that point but he's more of what we have. He's a similar type of player to Robbens and Cofield but for our rotation what we really need is a big guy who can dominate against the run on first and second down to rotate around which is why I'd rather we pass on Jerry there for Hamlin or Johnson and grab big body either with our next pick or on day two. That said this is a draft I could very well see happening as all the guys have the type of mentality that fits with our team. If BJ books LeSean mcCoy or Shon Greene might make a lot of sense at one of our second round picks.

Bucs pick is great.

We would take DHB over Maclin.

I can't disagree with either Raiders pick. Great job.

Raji would be so awesome next to Kelly. OMG. :)

Perfect picks for the Chiefs. I agree with building the team from the trenches out and since Thigpen seems to be a pretty good QB (8:1 td:int ratio in the last 4 games) then I'm happy with addressing our pass rush, or lack thereof, and I absolutely love Herman Johnson in the second.

Good job. +rep.

+rep for KC's picks.after today a pass rusher may have moved past QB as top need

Given Matt Hasselbecks age and fragile body i would hope in this scenario the Seachickens would go with the QB who is probably number one on most boards, Stafford.

Bucs pick is great.

We would take DHB over Maclin.

How do you know? Gruden usually prefers guys who produce and are from big time conferences. Thats more Maclin than DHB. Plus, Maclin is further along than DHB. DHB is pretty raw and very inconsistent, thats not what Gruden has looked for, and won't be after the epic failure of the Dexter Jackson project. It would be more of a concern if Maclin were a smaller WR, but he's a legit 6'1 and 200, at the least.

Also, I'd take Vance Walker over Hood in round 2.

The Rams HAVE to take a OL in the first two round, but you did show you know that two of the Rams top 3 weaknesses are LB & CB but at the point we are at and with the way it pans out, I can't hate Jenkins considering I no longer think Monroe is top 10 material, and then in the second the first three picks are all on OL...that is brutal for the Rams; so my final analysis is that with what you gave us I am fine but a better combo would be OT & CB/LB

Ya were not getting great value with but Selvie is a good pick Duke is an option. No thanks with Murphy though.

If it were Andre Smith it would be a perfect Niner draft. Nothing wrong with this one though brilliant.

Solid Panthers pick in the 2nd round.

That pick really is hard to project, as the Panthers needs directly depend on what they do with UFAs Julius Peppers, Jordan Gross, and Chris Gamble. If they re-sign 2 of them, then the other's position would be the pick. Pretty good draft overall though.

For the Skins Alex Mack makes me very happy. Anyone of those guys Mack, Jason Smith, Duke Robinson would all be great. For the Ravens perfect mock with Maclin and Kevin Barnes. That solves two of their most glaring weaknesses.

Greg Hardy in the top 10..... I don't think so. Pack pick is good for where we picked but I'm pretty sure we wont be picking 13th overall.
