I keep seeing his name more and more... Which current NFL player is he like? Tim Hightower type position/(draft round, skill asset, etc.)

Sort of similiar... Both run the ball really hard and blend in very solid athleticism into their game.

He's a solid back. Good power but lacks speed. Pretty typical power back. 2nd rounder probably.

He's legit 2nd round talent. Power, decent vision, good posture.

As an Iowa fan I must tell you you Shonn Green does not lack speed. That is something people assume about him due to his size and power. Shonn ran a 4.6 40 in highschool and showed off his speed many times this year out running oponents. This makes him a dual threat because he can either run you over or out run you

4.6 is HS fast not NFL fast.

He's a fringe first-round pick in my eyes. Great player, the only thing I worry about is character concerns. He's had some problems with school and such.

he can't catch out of the backfield...so unless Andy Reid dies, he will be useless in that offense.

He'd be a good power back in short yardage situations.

Thats what everyone said about Tony Hunt, and now hes playing FB, I want him in Philly two because games were decided by a short yardage play that the Eagles couldnt get done, but idk if he will be used in that offense

Tony Hunt is soft, Greene is not. Hunt isn't playing anything right now. He got cut.

id compare him to a slower less athletic jonathan stewart type

He's going to be the new version of Michael Burner. Similar body, running style, lack of involvement in the passing game.

Power backs are not awesome in Philly. See Tony Hunt.

Tony Hunt is not a power back. Tony Hunt is a soft runner. Saying Tony Hunt is a power back is like saying T.J Duckett, P.J Hill and Ron Dayne are power backs

The way he runs reminds me of a little bit slower Michael Turner. I think he's a solid 2nd round pick I doubt he cracks the 1st round.

Greene's got plenty of speed for his size. He's going to be a force in the NFL.

Turner is a good comparison. But he's not a "slow" Turner. Turner is a slow mofo.

Reminds me of Marion Barber in a lot of ways, but not completely. He doesn't have the receiving skills that Barber has. However he is a better between the tackles RB. Always falls forward, never goes down upon first contact, great balance, ability to cut it to the outside, nice spin that he relies on, and good stiff arm.

Green is my favorite RB in college football.

Get on the Brandon Minor train while tickets are still available. You will love him.

shonn green is a very good back that will have a long career in the nfl. he reminds me of a mix between jerome bettis with his hardnose strength and barry sanders with his extremly good sence of balance, i might even say he is a slower version of walter payton. and he can catch the ball btw.

Would you say he's got a sprinkle of marshal faulk with his ability to catch the ball? And perhaps a dash of Mack Strong with his blocking? And finally a slight touch of kindlez just due to godliness.

He's a great pwer back. My favorite thing about him is his balance. His fantastic center of gravity keeps him running long after many other runners would fall.

Less Marshall Faulk, more Jordyz Nelsonz.

I wonder how his age will affect his stock....
I think he'll be 24 by the start of the 2009 NFL Season.

What do you think Scott?
As for his size and quickness, speed: how does he physically compare with former Gator DeShawn Wynn?

Jennings is not better than Shonn Greene

Jennings runs straight up and doesn't embrace contact

The best comparison I've ever read on him was Michael Turner...this was pre-break out for Turner. I wouldn't say Green's ceiling is as high as Turner's.
