Sorry, no explanations, but I wanted to get this up before I find another excuse to wait. I'll answer questions though. A few "out there" ideas went into this, I'll admit, but I think it will be good food for thought in some cases.

Do you expect us not to re-sign Webster? Because that's the only way I could see a corner making sense for us since ROss and Webster are playing well as the starters and TT looks like a stud as the Nickelback as long as he doesn't have the injuries he had at USC.
Some general thoughts:
you don't think Andre Smith declares? I understand having Britton not coming out but Andre SMith? he's a top 5 lock and isn't going to get any taller.
it's Sergio Kindle
And You have Jason Smith going awefully low. I like him more than Monroe in some a lot of situations. He's my number fourth after Andre Smith and Oher/Britton.

I knew I had something off when I came up short at the end. I'm gonna fix that and have you take another over all look. That will fix the Giants pick also.

I know I've said all along that NO will trade down further then that, but when I started putting all the pieces in, that was the only one that made sense from both sides (Hey, I want to be right but not at the expense of being illogical).
It may be a bit of a reach for Cushing, but it does afford us another pick.

We don't need a slot receiver because we have that with Smith at the moment. I'd prefer Vince Ogbosese (or however the hell you spell his name).

If one of the top DEs, OTs, Ss or DHB isn't at our pick I want us to go with Vince Oghobaase. I only mention OTs because htis draft has about 5 franchise caliber LTs if britton declares and while I love Diehl I'd love diehl even more at RT with someone like Jason SMith or Eugen Monroe opposite him at LT.

Holy **** I almost peed myself when I saw Sergio Kindle to the Eagles. A new SAM backer would be so glorious. It'd never happen because the Eagles love them some Chris Gocong, but it's still ******* sweet!
I'm meh on Smith, but everyone seems to like him, so fine.

I dont think the Lions would draft Tyson Jackson when Jason Smith is still on the board. IMO, Jackson is more of a 3-4 DE or a DE/DT tweener in a cover 2 and we already have a couple there in IAF, Redding, and Cohen.
Nice draft though, the trade really made a lot of sense to me and I dont say that very often. Not many people truly understand the thought of jumping ahead of a team or 2 to get a postion that that team may take.

My thoughts on that were that:
1. I have no idea about the future of Plax with his recent target practice mis-hap.
2. Oghobaase has a shot at being there at pick #47 [Giants via New Orleans] but Harvin won't be.

Being from Louisiana and seeing more than a few LSU games, I'll admit, I may be a bit higher on Jackson than your average fan.

Yeah, but even if we wanted to draft a WR to replace Plax, it wouldn't make any sense to draft a shifty receiver, which we already have 2 of on the roster (I'm sure we're going to resign Moss for a minimal contract cause no one else will).

We're going to miss plax in the redzone, harvin doesn't help our redzone offense at all. I like Percy a lot and wouldn't mind the pick as a fan but I don't think it's a very good fit. We'd look for a guy like Britt slipping to the saints pick or a later round big guy like Mitchell. That said if we have a shot at DHB we can't pass, but other than I don't see a WR who'd bring something to our WR corps that's worth a first round pick.

I wouldn't be happy if the Pats traded up for Laurinitis. Vontae Davis would be ideal there, you have him on the board still. I would love if we had Kindle too.

Dont like the Colts trading up when there are quality players at the 26th spot. I would MUCH rather have them stay put and draft DJ Moore. CB is a big need for us as well as DT and Moore could be a stud at the next level and he also helps us in the return game.
2nd round we could then target DT with someone like Evander Hood.

Hold up..so I can sig quote this...are you saying the Bears do not need a receiver? That the Chicago Bears, who have Devin Hester leading their team with 442 Yards Receiving after 12 games do not need a receiver? That the "Monsters of the Midway" who have Matt Forte, a Running Back, leading the team with 4 Receiving TD's do not need a receiver?

Check just lower in my quote. Yeah, a receiver would be real nice, but we go so long between getting sacks on defense that we sometimes forget that its actually legal to tackle the opposing team's QB before he throws the ball....
Also, the receiver does no good when our o-line is as crap as it is. Williams should slot in at LT starting next year at least, so that should help, but we could use new starting guards and a new RT....
and if we must go WR, lets take someone with a little size to them. Maclin and Harvin as just such big no-no's here....they're basically what we already have in Hester but....even more raw. So take Hester and say he's one keeper....and lets add in Earl Bennett who cost us a 3rd rounder just last year, and we're good on the smallish receivers.
We're craving someone with some size...someone who can actually run a route over the middle without making everyone watching cringe just waiting for him to get pasted and busted in half. DHB and Crabtree are the only WR's to look at in the first round.
And even if you want to go the return ability route, save it. Hester hasn't been producing this year but even so, behind him we've got Dan Manning, Garrett Wolfe, Rashied Davis, Earl Bennett....probably a few others....who've all got return experience with us.
Maclin and Harvin simply wouldn't fill a need.

Well, I think it all hinges on what KC does. If they take Orakpo, we'll get a OT for sure. If they select an OT, I think we will grab the BPA rather then reach for an OT, unless between now and the draft there emerges a real solid 4th guy.
