View Full Version : Mike Goodson expected to declare

Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman said he doesn't expect junior tailback Mike Goodson to return to the Aggies for his senior season.

Sherman wouldn't elaborate but said it was because of a "combination of things."

Texas A&M running back Mike Goodson is expected to declare for the NFL draft. I think this is a dumb move on his part but I'm sure he'll get drafted.

Yatta!

Odd to say the least. There are at least 10 other underclassmen RBs who I would have expected to declare before him. Someone will take a flyer on him though.

Has to be because of the new offensive system at Texas A&M. They ran the ball signifcantly less this year and were less productive when they did run. They went from averaging 5ypc in 2007 to 3ypc in 2008.

We lost 4 starting linemen from the season before and switched from a spread option to an NFL style offense. We passed more because we were always behind and trying to stay in the game, assuming the defense was able to get off the field.

I loved him as a freshman. He has talent for sure. I can see a lot of teams being interested in him as a 3rd down and change of pace back with his athleticism.

He's so fast on the field, it's ridiculous.

I really like Mike Goodson. I know he's had a rough year, but I think he still has quite a bit of potential. He probably should've stayed for his senior year, but this might be a decent move if he think he won't get a lot of carries this year. He's definitely a potential day two sleeper.

Goodson has quicks on quicks in the open field. I think Sherman did himself a disservice by not getting Goodson's hands on the ball in open space, kid is dynamite. I'm sure this kid is frustrated with this season, on the other hand you sure he isn't getting pushed out by Sherman and his gang?

I don't think his poor production at the college level will have anything to do with his draft stock. Fast player....

Steal in round 4 for whoever drafts him.

He was hurt a couple times this year with minor stuff. I think Sherman was being cautious and not rushing him back to protect Mike's future. He's big into looking out for guys on the team's best interests.

If the Niners take him in a late round I will be so happy.

Can he return?

Probably. He has good vision and is skilled in space. That's usually what you look for in a return man

Can he return?
Yes and he did it for us when he was a freshman and sophomore.

He is probably going to be one of those guys that makes a giant buzz in the combine and goes early in the second day. This may not be a bad move for him, kinda depends on what other underclassmen declare.

It's definitely true. Kindle also beat him in the 100 during halftime. They were going to do the 400 and the mile afterwards, but Goodson backed out.

But according to heather, Loadholt is so strong that he just could have thrown Kindle (a shotput if you will) and Kindle would have landed at the 100 meter mark. That part of the story just plain isn't true...

hockey619

kindle is allowed to race but he must give the opposition a three mississippi head start then reverse crab walk instead of run. he is still undefeated in all races he as participated in and two that he thought about.

Kindle really is starting to make Jordy look like a scrub now that you think of it.

Sergio Kindle once tried to race Jordyzzzzz and they ended neck and neck. But the electronic trigger to determine the winner wasn't triggered because Jordyzzzzz doesn't actually touch the ground when he runs, he's levitating less than an inch off the ground and makes it look like he's running so that people don't realize he can fly.

That is the true story of Christmas.

I think he could end up very Ahmad Bradshaw like from a few years ago. Declaring although he should probably stay for draft stock, may time slower than he plays on the field, but will surprise for some team with his explosiveness and ball catching ability.
