BUCS TO SHIP PLUMMER TO RAIDERS?

There's speculation in league circles that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will eventually trade quarterback Jake Plummer to the Oakland Raiders.

The thinking is that the Raiders are interested in acquiring Plummer as a short-term starter while expected No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell gets ready to play, but that there's no way that the Raiders and Broncos ever could have done business together.

Enter the Bucs, who could end up being the straw man for a deal that puts Plummer in silver and black.

Stay tuned.

Plummer and Tampa's #4 pick for Oaklands #1 overall pick. Bucs pick up CJ.

I think this is a fairly smart move. I'de rather have Plummer in @ QB than Walter, but OAK's offense is different so I don't know if it will work.

You could argue a 4th rounder, like we did?

You do realize that trade values Jake Plummer as the 16th overall pick in the entire draft, right?

Unless Plummer really wants to stick it to us (which I don't really see him doing), he will definitely retire if he gets traded to the Raiders. Why would he want to get traded to a horrible team and be a veteran QB for another promising rookie QB?

Bucs are gonna ship Plummer to the Texans closer to draft day.

Count it.

I see this as much more likely destination for Plummer than Oakland. I don't even think Plummer is worth a 4th. He's only going to play like 4-5 games and than Russell/Quinn will start.....IF we draft a QB.

Alot will depend on what happens on draft day for the Texans. If the texans get Quinnthey'll have alot less interest in plummer, though they'll also have no interest and Carr and might just swap the 2.

Plummer wants to play for the Texans, he could start for them and maybe play the whole season. If Raiders draft Russell at some point maybe mid-season Lane Kiffin will want JaMarcus to play, Plummer won't like that.

Texans will never trade for Plummer - NEVER. Texans are trying to pick up few more draft picks rather then trading any draft picks. If Texans had really wanted to have Plummer on the team then they would have traded straight up with Broncos for 4th round pick. They didn't do that when Junior Shanahan who is the QB Coach for the Texans. Smith and Kubiak have worked with Shanahan in Denver.

The only reason Tampa acquired Plummer was to trade him to Texans or Oakland closer to draft time but they failed in both front. Texans will not trade for him and Tampa will not force Oakland to draft QB first. I think Oakland will draft CJ first and Gruden wants CJ in Tampa.

Only way Plummer gets to Houston is if he is cut by Tampa and signs as a FA.

In the worst case scenerio, David Carr will be back for one more season with the Texans and if Texans do trade him this off season which they will do then they are fully prepared to go to war with Sage Rosenfels as their starting QB.

Texans are interested in acquiring AP in the draft, they have absolutely no interest in Brady Quinn. They will draft QB either in round 2 or 3 to groom for few years.

If AP is drafted ahead of Houston then Houston will draft between Okoyi or Landry, Branch or they might trade down a few spot and pick up as many draft picks as possible.

Texans owner and administrative staff have openly said they will not trade away any draft picks and they will try to acquire more draft picks this year. This is the primary reason, Plummer is not in Houston and instead he is traded to Bucs. CHECK HOUSTON CHRONICLE FOR REFERENCE IF YOU NEED TO.

Thank you for assuring me of the fact that the Texans will NEVER trade for Plummer. Given the recent hot streak the Texans administration is on, I am fully inclined to believe your ever so reliable prediction. i appreciate your knowledge and breathe it in as if it were a breath of fresh, honest, reliable air.
