I really don't know all too much about Delmas, but Pegues has all of the ability in the world. He can play every spot in the secondary, he can return kicks/punts, he may be slightly undersized but is strong and athletic, and he is a flat out playmaker. Pegues has some character concerns but his playmaking ability and versatility make him very comparable to a guy like Brandon Meriweather. I would take Pegues because he has an extremely high ceiling.

How is Derek Pegues as a tackler, I haven't seen much of him, how physical is he?

Pegues is the man, he can play corner, both Safety spots, even nickel back. As a tackler he's pretty good too. He's also an amzing return man

Pegues. He should get more press/respect

I have a man crush on Louis Delmas, although I see him as a SS in a Cover 2.

Pegues is a great athlete although I'm not sure which position he'd play at the next level. I'm leaning towards FS but he is very undersized at 5'10", 190.

No doubt, IMO he's the 2nd best senior safety and doesn't get the pub b/c he plays as such a piss poor school

Delmas is being touted as the hardest hitting safety in the draft by a lot of scouts. They say if he were 2 inches taller and 20 lbs heavier he'd be a top 10 pick as a safety

Is it just me or does Delmas constantly lead with his head?

If so, he's putting himself at risk for not just concussions, but risking a serious neck injury that will be no one's fault but his own.

I'd say he's an above average tackler. He's a physical player.

So where would you rank Pegues behind/ahead of Rashad Johnson?

I like Peagues too. He was a 5* coming out of H.S.. I think he still has a lot of potential to get better.

I like Pegues because of his elite return ability, athleticism and his versatility. For a zone based team he could play Corner or Safety. Add his return ability and I think he's superior to Delmas..

That said I'm not a fan of William Moore. He may be trying to compensate for weak CB's this year but he's done little to impress me.

I'll say this. I have more faith in Pegues holding up at his size playing free safety or maybe even quarterback than I do in Delmas holding up at his size at strong safety.

Not that I don't like Delmas as a player, but I have my concerns about him as an NFL player.

I would love Pegues on the Cowboys next year, I think he's 2nd/3rd rd prospect now but great workouts could always change that, he's a playmaker and does a little of everything, he's probably a good ball hawking FS at the next level and I am watching out for him to make a rise up draft boards come spring.
