Fact: The Detroit Lions have never played in a Super Bowl.

Fact: The Detroit Lions have never had a long term franchise QB in the Super Bowl era.

Fact: The last time the Detriot Lions won an NFL championship they were led by a franchise QB.

Fact: That QB, Bobby Lane, played high school football at Highland Park in Texas.

Fact: Matthew Stafford played high school football at Highland Park in Texas.

Fact: When Bobby Lane was traded by the Lions to the Steelers he reportedly began the 'Curse of Bobby Lane" by saying the Lions would "not win for 50 years." http://www.curseofbobbylayne.com/

Fact: That trade was made in 1958.


I had to share that with someone. I noticed that while reading about Lane on Wikipedia. Pretty awesome coincidence if the Lions take Stafford.
