Just saw this on PTI, he should start as a RB coach at the highest. Pro Football isn't like alot of other pro sports where you can be a head coach just from playing.

Man his name was thrown out as a rumor for the San Diego State job and he said he didn't want to coach.

Rod Smith was always my O-Coordinator after about two years. He made my wide receivers Gods.

He should take a look at the path that other former players such as Haslet, Singletary, and Del Rio took to the head coaching job. Being a head coach means gaining respect as a leader among not only players but other staff members, GM's, personnel guys, etc. I bet Faulk doesn't even have his short list of OC, DC, O-line coach, D-line coach, secondary coach, and so on and so forth.

Yeah, Marshall, you're gonna have to start out as a low level coach and work your way up. Marshall is a very good offensive mind though, so if he did start out as a RB coach, he should easily be able to move up to an OC within a couple of years.

He will have to prove his skills in D3 or D 2 before jumping to the pros, unless a former coach hooks him up as an RB coach. If he wants to be a HC then he will have to compete with the other established coaches in the lower ranks like D3, D2, & D1-AA. I remember we played a team at the D3 level, and the HS was a former Panthers RB. So it can be done, but you have to pay your dues and show you can play well with others, since you have to listen to your staff. If your EGO gets in the way, cuz you were a sick player, then your coaching career will be over before it even starts.
A Perfect Score

He certainly had a huge impact on the game, especially considering his influence on the interpretation of the stereotypical RB situation...I dont know if he would be ready to coach at this point in time, I mean he only retired a few years ago, but if you let him start out as a position coach and he worked his way up, I see no reason why he couldnt succeed in the NFL as an OC or HC.

Yeah I am pretty much in agreement with everyone else. Start as a runningback coach and work your way up.
Deion wanted to coach the Falcons a couple years ago, too..

I'm not a Rams fan, but I would say "no thank you" if I were one. Why does Marshall believe he's qualified to coach an NFL team? He has zero coaching experience. Just listening to his senseless rants on NFL Network, I'd say he'd make a terrible coach at this point.

The Rams should interview him for the position. (Minority: check! Rooney Rule ftl)

He could be a Runningbacks coach, but its a bit early right now. I think it would be weird coaching his former teammate in SJax.

I don't think he'd be good. He doesn't have any experience. He just wanted some attention.
