View Full Version : Regular Season or Offseason?

I didn't know where to put this. It could have gone in NFL Draft or NFL, but I couldn't decide so I put it here.

Which do you like better, the regular season and playoffs

or

The combine, free agency, pro days, the draft, training camp, pre-season

It's very close for me, but the regular season is really only 2 days a week. In the offseason, there's always something going on, a signing, an amazing 40 time...etc

Maybe because I am a Jets fan, but they are known to run a quite boring offense. It was better this year than it usually is (thank you Schotty) and there is only 16 games, and I LOVE the draft.

As of late the offseason because watching the Dolphins is very hard some days. On a whole, the season to watch other teams play and such, but the offseason is entertaining and I enjoy the draft more than any day during the season including he super bowl. Offseason brings some hope.

The season is what we wait for. . . .to watch the rookies make their impact.

But really, the season is better than the offseason by far; free agency/Draft is more of a remedy to the offseason blues and it's some action that gets you excited for the upcoming season.

It is the games and playoffs that mean everything but offseason you have the combine, workouts, free angency, trades, the Draft (thats kind of why we are here), Madden comes out, hope for all teams, training camp drama, coach carousels, rookies, and fantasy football drafts.

I love the offseason, of course the playoffs are the amazing but i just enjoy everything the offseason has to offer a little bit more.

What? No.

If something's whole purpose is to make something else better, it can never be as good as what it's trying to make better.

Like salt. or Ketchup. The offseason is essentially a condiment to be added to the season.

What is a burger without ketchup? The ketchup can be the best part to the burger. Condiments are sometimes better on the food than the actual food.

Fans of winning teams will say the Season, and the fans of bad teams will say the offseason. Lol

I know the Lions fans don't much look forwards to the season, lol. Because every year we have to come to grips with the fact that it doesn't matter how much it looks like we improved, we still suck.

Then your argument was crap, because that in no way says that the off-season is better. It just says the off-season makes the season better, which has been stated multiple times.

Damn you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd much rather have a burger with an nfl draft, a combine, pro days, free agency, madden 2008, preseason, training camp, fantasy football drafts, ketchup, and lettuce than a burger with 16 games topped with a juicy playoffs and superbowl.

how is it even this close. THE ACTUAL SEASON!

TCU
03-03-2007, 10:52 PM
well its close because to the people outside this forum they like the season more but this is a differnt group of people, we are all here because of 1 thing The Draft. The people here are huge draft fans and people who love the draft love the offseason. Im not saying if you love the draft you automaticlly like offseason more than the real one, im just saying its close because of the type's of football fans that are on this site.

One Jets playoff win > any draft pick.

Not every team is fortunate enough to win (Raiders) so it wouldn't be crazy for them to like the offseason better if they have the #1 draft pick and don't win many games.

Even the Raiders won't lose indefinitely.

Anyways, we'll make a deal. If you love the offseason so much, you just watch that. I'll ignore all things offseason from now on. However, you are no longer allowed to watch the season.

Fantasy Football is in no way, shape, or form part of the offseason. It is 100% season related. If anyone gets fantasy football it's me.

Also, how does baseball factor into this? I hate baseball anyways, so I'd agree. But I still don't see what connections you're making.

As for Madden, that isn't really part of the offseason or season. It's a video game about both.

Well it is because it's about trades and free agent pickups, which is offseason related, but I see your point. Also, Madden comes out in the offseason which is another reason to like the offseason better than regular season.

Madden has been done horribly the past couple years, anyways. The only reason anyone buys it is because we have nothing else NFL related. Anyways, I don't see how you can include Madden, seeing as it's not related to either. It's a video game. You're taking this way too far.

Well I think this thread was immediately taken too far from the first post. Anyway, I'm sticking with my opinion, offseason slighty better than regular season, mainly because I just love the draft. IMO, the draft is better than any NFL game all year, besides the Super Bowl MAYBE.

So essentially watching ESPN and the NFL Network and business offerings with decent players getting overpaid contracts, and the good ones getting franchised is better than actually watching the game itself? The Draft is a great compliment to the season but I clout anyone who says that the offseason is better than the season. I guess different strokes for different folks.

The way I'd say the bet would go would be:

frogstomp, since he can't pay attention to the off-season, can't hear anything about FA or the draft. He can do baseball, Madden and FF, because if not, you're just comparing August-February to March-July.

JF3, you can't pay any attention the games. You will never know how the Jets are doing, EVER. You will never know what players they have, except their draft picks and FA pickups, and you will never be able to actually watch them play besides pre-season. AND no reading about it.

For me it is easy, the regular season. Yeah it is great in the off-season with FA and the combine and the draft, minicamp, and all that good stuff. But it is great to see guys actually playing the game they are making millions for. The games are only two, sometimes three days a week, but the Sundays are what matter more IMO.

Regular season but it just turned that way.

After years of the Bengals sucking you can understand why I looked forward to attempting to make our team better rather than watching them lose.
