It seems as though that our executives are trying to make it right this time. They are looking for for coaches that fit their philosophy and existing personnel. This actually makes me kinda happy. Thoughts?

I think thats a horrible move trying to get coaches and plays to fit the lions personell. Reason being we have no talent. Why gameplan for ****** players? I think the better move is to try and acquire better players like stafford then gameplan with them. Make sense?
thats true, but at least they know thats what we did in the past and they're trying to make things better in that regard
Eh. Everyone knows the right things to say. I don't have high hopes for Mayhew. I don't give him much credit for the Roy deal, either.. It just shows how much Jerry Jones was willing to give up.
I think it's completely insane that he didn't even interview one person for the GM spot. He has no idea. He was given the Lions and the Ford company and ruined them both!

I completely agree. This hire is worse than when he hired Millen. Where is their resume that clearly indicates they have the ability to get the job done? There is none, they have been on board since Millen arrived and are part of the problem not the solution. There is nothing in their past record to indicate that they can run a little league team never mind a NFL team.
They kissed Ford's ass and it got them hired without even an interview. He just handed them the job. I didn't think it could get any worse than Millen but this just looks like more of the same under a different name.
Mayhew sure wasn't getting any other GM spot either. I doubt any team ever asked for permission to speak with Mayhew about their open GM position. There isn't one thing he could point to that he's done that shows he's capable of being a GM.
He could make a great first impression though, by saying he's willing to split duties with Mike Shanahan in order to bring him in as HC.

It gets worse.
During Tuesday's press conference, new Lions president Tom Lewand remarked how the Falcons' only high-priced acquisition in 2008 was "Michael Bennett" and commented on how the Steelers allowed "Greg Lloyd" to sign with Miami.
