Atomic Chicken Wings

Tonight I am going to Quaker Steak to do their atomic wing challenge.

You have to sign a waiver and eat six. I am doing it with about 4 other friends, and whoever eats all of them the fastest, they are crowned the winner.

I am not a huge fan of eating really hot stuff. I do like the occasional hot sauce.


My plan is to just eat them as fast as possible before the heat really kicks in. I am assuming it will kick in on wing 3 if I go really fast. I will have a side of hot pretzels, and a couple glasses of milk.

Anyone have any advice? Oh by the way, these things are wicked hot. They are 150 times hotter than your normal hotsauce. It will take 150,000 glasses of water to get ride of the hotness.

haha.......ur gonna get owned. I like really hot food, but those atomic sauces are just gross. Its gonna be excruciating.....both going in and out. Good luck is the only advice I can give.

EDIT: oh, and I have heard the sauce itself makes anything it touches burn like hell so try to get as little as possible on you face.

I've had them once. I was able to eat two, and then ended in the bathroom/outside trying to cool down.

My suggestion TBB, bring milk. Lots of milk. It will really quench that spice. If you are allowed, or at least afterward, have it ready. Go Whole.

If you can't, try drinking a bunch of buttermilk beforehand.

Here is a hint - Take all the chicken off the bone first then wipe your hands. In doing so, you will make it easier to eat the meat faster and get rid of lots of extra sauce. Also, remember your basic science 101, bases neutralize acids. Have something dairy based: sour cream, milk, cheese handy to eat and balance the acid.


That is, if you are not man enough to just eat them like a man, LOL.

I love that show and you should definitely take his approach of eating them as fast as possible. Also, drink a glass of milk before you start, along with while eating, so that when they hit your stomach, you can neutralize the acid.

They have a lot of the Marine Corps Training Schools there and it's filled with idiot kids who try to eat more than 3. Atomic wings are ridiculous, hell I love hot and spicy food but that's well past most people's limit...Like Jbond said you might get a few down but it will start to feel like your eating lava after awhile and tearing your stomach up.


Eating 6 really fast might work, but you better have a bathroom close by, milk(it really does help), and a little luck...I can't do it, if you finish 2nd you will feel like crap so go hard or go home.

lol 300.000 scu. we got a shop in frankfurt that sells Currywurst which is like Bratwurst with Curry and a sauce with 1.200.000 scu...yea thats hot

i only tasted the one with 111.000 scu since u had to be 18 to taste anything hotter. i also tasted Blair's Jersey Death Sauce which has ca. 650.000 SCU but not a lot. if u dont get too much of that sauce its actually kinda enjoyable.

Let me just say, I dont suggest anyone to do it. I hurt really bad. First your lips, then your mouth, then your stomach, and eventually your colon.

All for contestants finished the wings. Unfortunately, I came in last. I was atleast six years younger than everyone. After rushing through 4 wings, my mouth was full of sizzling hot chicken wing meat. It was really tough to swallow. Once I heard I past the 1:30 mark, I knew I lost because the leader finished them all in 1:20. However I never gave up. I even ate the jalapenos it came with, and I even licked my fingers clean. Nobody else did that. It took a lot of heart. I was the underdog, and even though I came in last place, it took courage to eat all of it.

Once I was done I ran to the bathroom to regain my composure. My lips were blue. Seriously, they were swollen and blue. My face was spotty, and my eyes were red and watery.

I am going to call it a night, but you know the saying "Pics or it didnt happen" well lets just say I have quite the evidence. I even have a video I will post on youtube of the entire process of eating. From me slapping myself to get amped, to splashing milk all over my face, and to me litterally dieing eating the wings. It will all be on there.

i have always liked spicy foods and this sounds cool i would love to do this. i have ate habanero peppers and there hot i ate 2 of them in a row and insanity sauce is really hot lol i remember being a kid and having hot sauce drinking contest lol (fill shot glasses up and who ever quites loses i was like 9)

Wing Stop is the best. My friend lives down the street from the owner of WingStop, his house is huge. The garage is bigger than all the houses on the streets. And his Garage has a retractable roof for his helicopter.

2-atomic wings are nothing to mess with. i like spicy food and the minute the sauce touched my tongue, i said "f this, i'm getting normal wings." what i had weren't called atomic wings, but the unbelieveable spicyness is probably comparable.
3-mango habenero wings at BWW are the best. but as far as wings go, i like a local place. chilli lime. mega tasty.

I know what you mean, I get the same feeling when I eat hot salsa. It tastes great as I'm eating it, but once I'm done is when the pain really starts to kick in. And I'm sure the salsa is nothing compared to those wings.
