Erik Bedard's looking at his first complete game since his Oriole days. He's throwing a fantastic game.

7 K's
8 Innings
1 Walk
2 Hits

Could be his comeback year.

Todd Bertuzzi

And he gets the hook with 2 outs left. He pitched very well today though and would've most likely gotten the complete game had he gotten some more run support.

I think I should have sacked up and started him today.

Great prospect. The fact that he's had two pretty good games already is very promising considering his age. I personally like him more than Brett Anderson.

Kelly Johnson: The next Dan Uggla, with better plate discipline? No, because Johnson doesn't have near his power and their plate discipline is pretty much equal.I have to disagree with that second bit. Johnson consistantly hits for a better average, draws more walks, and strikes out less.

WHAT?? JP Ricciardi is a brutal GM. He makes me cringe.. I'm not sure if thats because of his toucan sized schnauz or because of his nasty GM skills....either way I can't wait for him to be fired.

Some examples of JP FAIL..
the Vernon Wells contract, the failure to trade Delgado, the BJ Ryan contract, the revolving door of scrubs (Eckstein, Mench, Wilkerson, etc.), the Frank Thomas fiasco, the failure to trade Burnett....

I teared considerably today. Harry Kalas was the voice of my childhood. He's broadcasted every game from the day I was born to yesterday. To think about that is really really sad. I met him in '99 when I was 9 at the Vet during a take a picture with the players day. He was the first one out there to greet the fans and the last one to leave the field. He loved the Phillies, the game, and his job. His passion for the Phillies is unmatched. RIP.

I've watched 2 or 3 games, and he has improved a bit but still.

I'm not saying the guy is a gold glover, but he's made strides this offseason. One of the things I noticed (and our announcers pointed out) is on double play attempts where the ball is hit to him, he steps forward towards home and throws around the guy running to second. He used to step sideways and throw into the runner (he hit a few guys last year and before).

Btw, Jay Bruuuuuuce with his first homer of the year.
