I know D. Williams is a bigger back but. Moreno reminds me of Williams some... A bit... Am I totally off here?

Moreno to me is a clone of Cadillac Williams.

Are, not is. And I'd say Williams is more physical than Moreno. Like everyone else has said, I see Moreno as a (healthy) Cadillac Williams.

They is not.

It's not the worst comparision, there are some similarities between the two. Williams, if memory serves, fumbled only once or twice in his very good career at Memphis. I don't recall many fumbles for Knowshon, but I do remember him bumblin' a pitch against UF.

But I do think Knowshon is slightly more athletic/faster than DeAngelo and like said, without the physicality that DeAngelo had. Moreno may be a bit better receiving wise than Williams when he came out.

Ray Rice reminded me some of Williams last year, except with even less long speed and in a worse NFL body

I can see Moreno, but it's a stretch. The vision and cutting ability is similar, though he lacks the full package physically. He runs a little more upright than Williams, and isn't as patient. Falls forward better

Moreno has proven to be a better receiver thus far, but other than that they are very similar physically.

Not to toot my own horn but I was really high on DeAngelo Williams coming out. In fact, I had him as the #2 running back in that draft and the 12th best player OVERALL.

John Fox did his best to hold D-Willie back but 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns later I am feeling pretty good about that projection. :)

Why post here? Why click on the thread that clearly is comparing two players in the title?

Scott, would you say Williams and Stewart are the best RB duo in the NFL? I definitely think they are.

It's either them or Adrian Peterson / Chester Taylor.

I always kind of thought Moreno was comparable to Portis, in that he's undersized, but plays very tough.

I don't think he's as fast as Portis.

That's like Wilt Chamberlian and his teammate who have the most points by teammates ever in one game with 118 or whatever it is. Wilt had 100 the other guy had 18.

Taylor is a lot better than people give him credit for.

Yeah. I was really high on him as well and wished the Falcons could somehow get him or use him. Then he went to the Panthers and I kind of stopped caring about him.

He reminds me of Cadillac Williams not Deangelo at all. Deangelo has great breakaway speed, Great Vision & some power he has the total package.

I really think he might be close.
What did Portis run at the combine?

Moreno probably just lacks Williams Power. Knowshon has great vision and enough speed to make big plays at the next level. I love how tough this kid is too.

Lynch.

I think the beast is a stronger runner than Moreno. Taking nothing away from Moreno, Lynch is just a monster.

Not really. He's a slightly above average starter.

Moreno is good enough to average 1,200 yards rushing, 300 yards receiving and 15 TD's a year for the better part of a decade if you put him in the right situation. Who he compares to isn't really important.

I'll still have to see Moreno run at the combine to rank him as high as Williams. Just how fast is Moreno, that is the question at this pouint in the draft process???

Way to premature to be making these predictions.

I've watched every game he's played in college. Nothing that will happen during the pre draft process, short of an injury, will do much of anything to change my opinion on him. He has all the tools to be that productive in the right situation.

Did you time him in the 40 because I've heard rumors that he is slow. We won't know that till he runs.

Those rumors come from people who think only in extremes. He does not have elite breakaway speed. That's not the same as being slow. He's fast enough to be first team All-SEC two years in a row.

I was a HUGE Williams fan myself. I remember watching the Panthers making the pick within like 2 seconds and being pissed.

Me too... I picked them to win their division after that draft.
