Best individual effort in one game/event - Phelps in Olympics.
Best play - David Tyree's catch
Best sports team - Boston Celtics
Best movie - The Dark Knight
Best song - ??? I dont listen to radio much.
Best game - Metal Gear Solid 4/Mass Effect PC
Best sports town - Boston (Super Bowl appearance, Boston AL Champ appearance 7 games, Celtics win it all.)

Best athlete - Phelps
Best individual effort in one game/event - Federer/Nadal in Wimbeldon. Had to be mentioned somewhere on this list.
Best play - This is clearly where Tyree is suppose to be but I'll give this to Phelps' 8th gold medal.
Best sports team - New England Patriots
Best movie - The Dark Knight
Best song - Never Gonna Give you up - Rick Astley. Wins every year. duh
Best game - I think you mean video game here and I'll go with COD4.
Best sports town - Philadelphia. As much as I hate all other teams in Philly but the Phillies, celebrating after we won the World Series was incredible.

One thing you will always remember about 2008 - Giant upset.
One thing you wish you could forget about 2008 - Giants beating GB in the NFCC.

Best athlete - Phelps
Best individual effort in one game/event - Usain Bolt 100m dash. My Jaw dropped on this one.
Best play - The Tyree catch on the game winning drive to beat the undefeated team.
Best sports team - Celtics
Best movie - The Dark Knight
Best song - No clue here.
Best game - COD4. Amazing game through and through.
Best sports town - Boston. I dont really like Boston but with the Celtics winning and the Patriots destroying the rest of the NFL for most of the year I have to give it to them.

One thing you will always remember about 2008 - Michael Phelps. He made everyone stop what they were doing and watch. He single handedly made two separate parties I was at come to a complete stop. People turned off the music and watched him succeed.

One thing you wish you could forget about 2008 - The death of my grandfather. He never was going to grow old anyways.

Best athlete - Michael Phelps
Best individual effort in one game/event - Usain Bolt
Best play - Eli's touchdown pass to Plaxico Buress to win the superbowl.
Best sports team - New York Giants
Best movie - Batman: The Dark Knight
Best song - Slipknot - Dead Memories
Best game - Call of Duty 4 or Fallout 3

One thing you will always remember about 2008 - Stephanie Rice winning 3 gold. The Elation I felt watching the Patriots lose.

About a week before new years, it involves alcohol, a Swedish redhead, a beach and prophylactic.

One thing you wish you could forget about 2008 - I got put in handcuffs after getting into a fight (I didn't start it, or even escalate it) to protect my friends girlfriend when a guy took a swing at her.

Beating someone's ass who deserves it and then getting thrown to the ground and then in a cop wagon sucks.

they are the DETROIT Pistons. If they were the Great Lakes Pistons in Auburn Hills i think you would be moronic to say they are part of Detroits tree of teams.

the new england patriots are clearly a team for the boston media market. ask everybody in boston who their home football team is, and ya know what the answer will be.

and thirty some miles away from the city is nothing. i see no problem linking the patriots to boston and i will continue to do so.

c'mon.
Warriors-San Fransisco
Rangers-Dallas
Patriots-Boston
Marlins-Miami

When teams do that, it's just an attempt NOT to alienate the surrounding areas. Dallas has Fort Worth, San Fransisco has Oakland, Boston has the entire northeast, Miami has south florida. It's a good idea, but everybody knows which media market they call home.
