Have to disagree with two of the douches drafted here...

The Emperor manipulated an entire galaxy and headed both sides of his own fabricated war in order to take control of everything. Sure in the end he was thrown over a fence by a gimp when he could have killed Luke like 100 times before all that but what he did to get to that point of power was genius IMO.

Evil, yes. Douche, I don't think so.

And Simon Cowell benefited off of the stupidity of our society and created a multi-million dollar hit show that has made him A) filthy rich and B) extremely famous. With probably no talent himself, he basically turned himself into a huge star by weeding out hysterically hopeful awful wannabes and exploiting people with real musical gifts to make a hit show. The show is kinda ***, but the fact that he pulled it off and he's still bringing in bread makes him a genius IMO. Plus he's not even a douche- he's actually hysterical if you watch how he makes fun of everyone on that show (although I've only seen the early episodes- not when they get to Hollywood). Seacrest is the douche there from what I've seen.
